Hi My Thule electric step has decided it won’t open power is getting to it as I can hear it trying, it was working early today but not now .2020 CV40 pvc .Any help would be welcome.

More than likely dirt or seized spindle use a dry ptfe type of lube spray not oil or grease 👍
Could you possibly guide me how to access the spindle should I remove the plastic covers as in picture.

On my step there is a plasic cover on the underside of the step which is reasonably easy to remove. You may be able to see what is going on if you remove it.
Thanks I will have a look.

I have the same issue with mine! Tried to take it apart to clean but I couldn’t budge some of the screws even with a splash of WD40!
Hopefully my local repair guy can sort out on Friday but I’ll download the image above it might help!👍

When I purchased my van the electric step wasnt fitted, though it came with it. I looked at trying to recommission it a month or so ago , but couldnt find where the electric cables fed from. I traced the cables from the switch, but they disappear under the floor and there was no obvious place in the floorpan to feed to. I have now removed the arms from the motor and can pull the step out manually and fitted a retaining clip to secure it on the move.

Thanks for all the replies. I managed to get it working with a couple of bumps with a block of wood. I could hear the rough sound of grit on the left side runners only stuff I had at hand was silicone spray which has helped a lot. I will get ptfe tomorrow .
Thanks to all for their wisdom.
