We are looking for a replacement MH,(currently selling the one we have) and like the look of the Elddis models but don’t know much about this make.
Any information gratefully received.

Thread drift alert…….

a few years ago we visited the motor museum at Gaydon, mainly ‘cos I had a Jaaaag at the time. Walked in and almost the first thing seen was one of the original land rovers. Took one look and said “typical land rover…. Still leaking oil even in a museum. The steward who heard this wasn’t overly impressed. Not quite the end of the story though; in 2021 had a temp job as area management for the census. Received the security passes for the team leaders and called around each to introduce and had over the pass. A gruff bloke called Robin got his pass, looked at me and said “I remember you - you pointed out the oil leak on the land rover!” Oh dear
It was a deliberate design feature to try and stop the underside rotting from under them .

Unfortunately it failed and most required a new chassis within a few years lol .

Rotboxes the lot of them . And they got worse as time went on

We run a few Land Rovers at work, about 15 years ago they were terrible! New engines and turbos, constantly off the run and stuck in dealers for weeks.

The latest batch do seem much better. Our fleet people’s view is that when they were taken over again they went for rock bottom mass produced crappy parts and paid the price for it.

That said, I would never part with the money they cost new, ever.

The Niva is still being imported...great cars!

Yes, I watched Jonny Smith's video review of the new imported ones a year or so ago when he ended up drowning it in a muddy pool, but it did not kill it.
Looks a bit more swish than the one I had.

If you want to drive off road, you need a Land Rover.

If you want to come back, you need a Toyota Landcruiser
