Ducato 02 Gearbox Breather

Hi. Is your breather the same size as Korova. Have you measured the diameter of the plastic tube sticking out of the gearbox. I designed th breather cover myself. If you need one, let me know the diameter and I will dig out my design. Just got to find it.

I'm pretty sure it's the same yeah. I literally took it off the van, wiped some old oil that had spilled on top, and that's the last I've seen of it 🤪. Yeah if you can find the STL that'd be great as it would save me 10 hours of trying to make it myself 🤣

Are you able to print in TPU

I purchased a roll about an hour ago which will be delivered tomorrow. I've got a Bambulab X1C. Not printed with TPU yet but I do have a filament dryer as well so it should be fine.

Zip file for you. There is 3 different sizes of internal webs to give you a better chance of a good fit. Let me know if you have trouble unzipping the file. IMG_7246.webp

Hi Dtanov
Dry the filament for about 8hours and then print it straight from the dryer. TPU prints awful if slightly damp. Also print it nice and slow. If you print too fast it will buckle in the extruder and it’s a nightmare to clear. Spread some glue stick on your bed as it sticks really hard to the bed and can rip the surface off when trying to remove it. It’s great stuff once you’ve mastered it.

Thank you for everything. Fun times ahead tomorrow 🤪. By the way, I need to use the van tomorrow. Do you think it will be fine without a cap in the meantime? I could print one in PLA up until the TPU arrives .

If your only going a short distance it should be OK without it. OR Try it in PETG. i think PLA might melt if you go any distance.

I'm a courier so will be using the van all day, start stop style of driving. I do have PETG yes so could print using that yes.

Go for it in PETG. It’s not as brittle and will cope with the heat better. Might not be a problem as it’s so cold at the moment.

I have always followed the rule to not engage fifth gear until engine temp is well up.
Delighted to see that a proper gearbox breather is available and I did have the gearbox on our 2005 2.8 overfilled some time ago but I understood it was not easy to drain and refill the gearbox.
Can anyone say the easiest way to do it please?
Grateful
Mike
