Dog Passport

One of mine has a spanish passport and the other one a french one how does that work? AHC at our local vet £106.50 ( dogs already jabbed and chipped )
You can travel into & out of the Uk on the french & spanish passports
That's the crux of it ... no-one has proof of this yet ... until someone does it we won't have an answer to this question which is what I've been saying all along.
The gov.regs Bob posted in post #50 clearly state in to & out of the Uk with an EU pet passport-Nothing else required.
Why not make some enquiries and find out the definitive answer!
Why not believe us? How many times do you want telling that if I take 50 dogs a day to my vet he will supply 50 pet passports all stamped ,signed ,dated , encapsulated & all comply with the UK regs.
They ship rescue dogs from here on a daily basic all over the EU & UK . Paperwork isn'yt a problem for them. In my vets I have even seen them state the address for the dog as the "new owners" in Germany,Holland, & UK.
The two dogs have EU Passports, but they are unlikely to be coming into the UK again. Extra expenses, not sure what, will stop them bringing the dogs when they’re allowed to visit us again.

Just a word of caution for those of you applying for an EU Passport, coming back into the UK might incur more expense than you expected.
Like what?
The usual worming etc cost them €100 each dog last July (during the time they were able to travel). They’ve been told by their vet, in The Netherlands, that both dogs will also require a blood test (cost unknown at this time) prior to visiting us in the UK.....
I pay 3€ for my dogs worming tablets + the passport is signed, dated & stamped as well. They are being robbed.
I do have a titre test as I had it done at a cost of 128€ 2 years back just in case whilst I was in the UK they decided they were leaving which meant he would have needed one. They have now decided that no dog entering or returning to the EU requires a titre test.
Just passing on what their Dutch vet told them........Maybe they should look for a second opinion? (y)
Yes I would.

Beech is now the proud owner of an EU passport and we still have her uk one. We had to put an EU address in the new one and used the campsite address which the vet said is fine and doesn't have to match our address as she can potentially travel with anyone not just us so the address is pretty irrelevant. It's the chip and vaccination info that matter.

I'll update further when we attempt to use it to return to the UK late March.

They take their dogs everywhere, so for them to say it’s not worth the expense or bother means something. I know nothing about moving pets, just suggesting that owners should but mindful of possible extra expenses.

Our family are UK citizens, but their dogs are EU citizens. 🤷‍♂️
They are being ripped off big style! We had our dogs done in the Netherlands and it wasn't anything like that for the worming.

It's not that we don't believe you, we know what has happened previously but has any of this happened since Brexit is the issue?

We know that PRE-BREXIT we could use an EU PP to bring dogs back to the UK, that's not in question, the things that we need definitive answer to are in relation to UK resident pets:
  • No-one has yet obtained a new EU issued PP since Brexit and confirmed that is has been accepted by UK officials
  • No-one has tried to see if their existing (ie pre Brexit) EU issued (not-UK) PP will be accepted by UK officials
It may be that they are okay but ideally we need to know from people who has done this not just what we think will be the case.
