Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

We actually liked Fnideq, was our first stop when we came over on 12th Jan, but got so cold we headed to the Atlantic coast. Enjoy rest of your stay, we still have another couple of weeks and just spent last few days in Marrakesh - we’ve decided that’s not for us, so just deciding now where to head to next

Well the rain forecast never came ...I think I got a light drizzle for about 10 minutes so just made the van dirtier to be honest lol. I think it's been a record this year , I think I've had 2 or 3 10 minute drizzles in 4 months , but I suppose I'll make up for that when back In the UK.

Not sure yet what I'm doing when I get back there as so far despite applying for well over 25 campsite jobs I've only had any form of response from maybe 5/6 at best . I've had 3/4 video interviews, seems quite ignorant really that you get no response from most not even a thank you for your application etc.

My cv isn't very good , I've never needed one before so maybe that's not helping , it's not the dogs overall because I've not mentioned them in my applications only to the few that I've had video chats with. .... it could also be that maybe a few have tried calling my UK phone number which of course the sim isn't in my phone at present . Who knows

I'm not overly concerned at present but if I don't get anywhere this year with work I may seriously have to consider a different path for the future.

If I've not heard nowt by the time I get back to the UK I'll likely head back up to Scotland within a fortnight and look in to other options.
I may look at a few properties as one option .

But hey ho , I've not used the budget I'd set aside for this trip so I'll survive off that for a while yet if I find wildspots to float between back in the UK.
 
There is a guy living in one of the car parks you used (got stuck in) on the way to the ferry a few years back. He's been there 18 months or so now, he had 2 cars and his motorhome there, all the MOT's had run out and noone bothered him or moved him on. It's the BoPeep car park not far from Newhaven so if you find places like that you won't have to move often, if at all 😂
 
Well I drove through fnideq, I didn't really see any reason to stop from the main road , I think I had a look around there last time but I'm not sure.. but anyway I decided that I'd only be buying something for the sake of spending the last dirhams I had so I didn't bother I just went in to petrol station and gave the guy the 400dh and said ... put as much as you can in and keep the change. In the end he squeezed in 367dh lol ...he could have stopped at 350 when it clicked off but he tried . So I gave him the other few coins I had in my pocket too.

He maybe got about 5 euro in the end , so I'm fresh out of dirhams , I've a full tank , half tank of water , plenty of food supplies and I'm all set for the ferry .

The parking spot I stayed at last time on a beach just a few miles from the port seems you can no longer overnight there . So I'm currently stopped in a big layby overlooking the mountains having a mint tea and a cookie . Deciding whether to just get on the 2.30pm ferry today or spend the day at the beach, overnight at the port and get ferry in the morning.

Decisions decisions ....as it is I'll need to return to UK around 20th March as I'll be out of shengen time ...... but does a day matter or not 🤷‍♂️ first day back in Spain will be a laundry, van clean ,wash and tidy day anyway. Before I decide what route back I'm taking .

Yes the north is definitely prettier, definitely if I came back I'd do the north and the med coast and down inland, I'd not bother with the shitty Atlantic coast again . Its a lot cleaner here too and no hassle didn't have a single person come near me yesterday

But obviously wetter, hence the green - what are the temperatures like?
 
The police in this country are a Fiddlesticksin joke ...the ferry is already running late , but despite the fact you can't leave the port without going through customs, the police and often the xray you still have arseholes in uniform stopping every vehicle coming off the ferry to check passports and sometimes looking inside .so the vehicles waiting to board can't because its taken over an hour to get the vehicles off the ferry


Police need seriously defunded here or given a brush and a bin bag and put to decent use.

Finally on the ferry ...one of the first on and reversed right to the back so will be last off .....this boat was meant to leave at 2pm ...spent nearly an hour in the queue for the x Ray etc. Messed around at customs with my scooter, 3times she had me unlock garage .. dogs out and customs guy having a nose in the van .

Parks up waiting to load , had lunch walked dogs boat arrived around 1.30 , police checked every vehicle coming off , asaanddd they checked us all again boarding wtf......had to take dogs out again till police looked inside .

Too many police, not enough work to do trying to justify a wage.

I mean who smuggles anything or anyone in to Morocco???

Whit a waste of time.
Rate its going the boat won't leave till after 4pm

I arrived at the port before 12pm

By the time it gets to algeciras and I get off it will be around 6pm

For a 90 minute crossing it takes nearly 6 f Ecking hours.

What a joke

I've low blood pressure. It's a medical fact those who rant are healthier than those who bottle it up and say it'll be fine .

Much healthier to get annoyed
 
And this is how close they parked me to the wall on my door side too .....so just aswell I stow away inside with the dogs . Cause I wasn't getting out that Fiddlesticksin door .. and there's a lorry 6 inches from my drivers door...so best Hope the boat don't sink....cause I ain't escaping

Do calm down old bean. You’re getting stressed over something where you have no control over the method or the outcome……..what did you expect to find there? If you want efficiency go to Switzerland and yodel in the mountains lol. You could listen to Frank Ifield I think he was a yodeller,and learn how to do it. We re looking at Ouzoud falls between Marrakech and Azrou, just need to check for snow at Azrou.
 
I must be on the wrong boat .....I must be on the one going to France because there's no way this is taking so long .. I've crossed from Newhaven to dieppe and cleared passports and customs both sides quicker than this crossing has taken .

I checked in at 11.37am this morning it's now 18.33 .....7 hours and I'm still not in algeciras.
