Do you give your dog Christmas presents?

they usually get the cheap wrapping paper tho
My Mum always wrapped presents for the dogs and one year used some lovely foil type paper ... the poor sods spent ages trying to get in it failing miserably until we took pity on them and opened one end!

I'll have to do them some this year though as she won't be doing it anymore - with it being Minky's first Christmas I can't wait to see what she makes of it all!

Your joking of course,,BUSBY,,😄😄
Nope. He's nearly 12 and puts himself to bed in the spare bedroom at about 10pm. I have to make sure he can't hear me making up his cracker containing his favourite local butcher's sausage, but I don't bother putting a joke inside as his sense of humour doesn't go much beyond pinching one of my slippers.

Bannock loves "opening" his presents, and ours, so much so that we no longer leave presents under the tree...

Friends send him presents on the basis that they will receive a video of him opening them 🤣

Cheers
Red.

My animals have always had Christmas presents.
My gorgeous Tab, lost him years ago but he was a special one-

Yes, but now he's 8 he has enough toys, so I just re-wrap some (I'm married to a Scotsman! :imoutahere: ) so he can have the fun of opening them:giggle:! He might get a new bed or reflective thingy as new, and of course, something edible.

We are not sure about Paddy and Christmas. He was not sure about the tree and lights. It took him a couple of days to go near it .
My sister sent us a pressy in the post. He was very interested in the wrapping and the box it came in. When I put it under the tree he sat and stared at it. Maybe he could smell her dog on the wrapping.
Our son has bought him a bow tie for Christmas and I think our daughter has bought him a dish with treats in it.
At eight years old it will might be his first Christmas.

Yes we do, but this year is a bit sad as we lost ours in November so shall miss the carnage of the paper ripping from her at our house.
But, our Daughters dog will no doubt get extra spoilt from us and as we are there for Christmas, should no doubt see some festive frivolity on the doggie present opening scene.
Why not!

Don't use tissue paper as it clumps easily so could cause issues if she tries to eat/swallow it - just bog standard wrapping paper or if you're a skinflint newspaper as they're less likely to try to eat it.

We used to buy our previous 2 a squeaky toy each, except Conker (Welsh Terrier) would get the squeaks out of both toys in just over 5 minutes!
These days we don't bother, Poppy isn't overly interested in toys and Harry's toys were Poppy's originally and some are nearly 9 years old - he's a boy who loves his toys. Giving food presents isn't a good idea as Poppy is totally food orientated and her whole life revolves around what's coming next.
They don't miss what they've never known.

Begs the question do you also buy a Birthday present. We don't buy our dog Christmas or Birthday presents.
Really?? Our moos had her 12th and final birthday last January and we lost her in May, we will never forget you Martha Moos

Happy Xmas to you and all your fur legged friends, cherish them whilst they’re here because they’re never here long enough❤️

Well, I wasn’t going to get Rosie a present, but now I feel she will be missing out. The sausage is a good idea, but I usually give her the chopped up bits straight in her mouth when training so as not to have them all over the carpet. One or two treats seems a bit mean but I wouldn’t let her have the whole bag.
The tree has been up for 2 weeks but last night the first time she started munching the tinsel. Just hoping it was just a tearing up and not much went in.

Tree went up yesterday, a photo of Bannock sulking in front of it because the presents are in bags...

I hope he (and you) have a lovely Christmas, at eight he has a lot of catching up to do! 😊

Pippa is a funny girl, sorry dog, she chews stuff up keeps chewing and turns whatever it is into ( what we call) chewing gum then she spits it out. Lovely in the van as we then usually find it with bare feet!!!!
Never seen her swallow anything she’s shouldn’t and we’ve kept an eye on her.

And if you do, do you wait until it's gone to bed before putting its stocking out?
my dogs are the only presents I buy lol! No one else gets any.
But i dont buy in to the commercialism and social expectation that Xmas has become. So its more of a more treats and toys than normal for my dogs because ill still be stuffing my face with goodies all day. But no, I dont wrap their "presents"!

.......................................................................................................

Yes....... :xThumb:

She looks after us all year and is part of the family....... Why not..???? :xsmile:

We got Yoshi a yak milk chew, which he loves, and a squeaky chew toy which he is not interested in at all! He loved unwrapping them, I didn’t use sellotape and twisted the ends.

We bought our cats some fancy fish pouch food at a crazy euro price as a crimbo treat. They did not like it and prefer the standard day to day Jelly Meat. However they did enjoy watching Dr Dolittle on Netflix and we all had a chat about it after :xsurprised:
