Diesel prices. UK or France to fill up.

You stated the above in a post.
What you don't say is where it is.

Is it a secret?

Aah

In Lepe near to a new Mercadona and Leroy Merlin is a fully automated Shell station.

A couple of months ago it was around 8c a litre cheaper than the fuel stations on the A49 near Ayamonte, last week it was only 2c cheaper at €1.169, not even worth the diversion off the A49,I was passing anyway, let alone the extra mileage from Ayamonte.

€1.29 !!! In spain?? That's outrageous

Was it a repsol? They are highway robbers

Think the most I ever paid in Spain was €1.20 .....the lowest €1.01
I don't think so Tam, but as I had just come over the the Pyrenees, via Somport, I was in much need of fuel, so pulled in at the first port of call after the tunnel. ;) BTW, what a pleasure it was to drive on the Spanish side of the tunnel :) compared to the French side. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Travelling north through France heading for the tunnel and shocked at the diesel prices after a few months of Spanish prices.
What are the current UK supermarket prices like so I can guess if I should be filling up before leaving France or filling up when arriving in UK.
Seems I’ve been in a time warp with prices of €1.69 seen on the motorways and even €1.50 at a Carrefour yesterday.
Hi there, came down thru France a month ago and to be honest there wasn't much difference between UK and France, paid average of €1.45 euros per litre.

Hi All today at Tesco at Dover the price of diesel is £1.24 .out of docks up jubilee way straight over roundabout the second petrol sigh is Tesco you are on the A2 towards London if any help to anyone

Filled up today in the good old UK..

Tesco crewe, 1.24 plus 5p a litre off because i done 50 quid in store.

Means i paid just 1,19 today..

With an exchange rate of 120 ....
Might have to fill up and tow a fuel bowser when we go skiing in 2 weeks
It’s still cheaper in France, even taking into account your 5p voucher....

but as I had just come over the the Pyrenees, via Somport, I was in much need of fuel, so pulled in at the first port of call after the tunnel.
First one spanish side is Cepsa but doesn't open until 7 am.
2nd one in Vilaneuva is Repsol, opens earlier

Yes it is now the road works are nigh on finished . The French side is far more scenic though especially in spring & summer. You can understand why they do not want a Mway put through there.

Came across an automated filling station in Vera (near Lidl), Almeria, Spain about ten days ago - 1.09 euro, which was particularly good value. We'd been paying around 1.25 euro at Repsol stations.

But yes, diesel in France has got very expensive. Couldn't quite believe it when we drove down to Spain. Suspect the high fuel prices are a contributory factor in the yellow vest protests.
Yes Macron is trying to get the French greener and has raised fuel duty .

In France now and the cheapest I’ve seen is €1.37 most expensive on Mway €1:69.

Zaragoza, Alcampo, today €1.06 and the super diesel €1.10.

Today - 18th February, prices for a litre of diesel:-

French supermarket price 1.38 Euros or £1.16
Spanish non-motorway garage price 1.12 Euros or £ 0.95

Kinross Services, £1.50 and that’s for petrol!

Asda near Oxford currently £1.20.7 - good price!

£1.21 at Tesco at Dover on the way out, but I am not going now as I can see a load of hassle from the Frogs on the way back from Spain and the outbreak has got bigger so more clampdowns as per Italy, even if you had not spoken to anybody.

We paid 1.16 euro lowest in Spain, on way back thru France lowest was at Superu @1.36 euro, its running at approx £1.24 at the Asda and tesco/Morrisons in our area

We have just done our final fill up in France before importing it into the UK on Monday.

Observation over the last week tells me that of all the supermarches over here, Super U invariably had the cheapest diesel. Our last three top up being less than €1.35.

Gettng cheaper in the UK, I heard it was due to China and other countries not using so much and there has become a surplus. See, every cloud has a silver lining (y)

Hardly anything in it , in fact I'd say that it will be cheaper in uk, average in France supermarkets €1.39, motorway fuel prices are horrendous up to €1.69.

Filled up for £1.19/l at Tesco yesterday but most of the local garages seem to be £1.26-£1.29.

Pretty dam close atm

If heading for the Chanel ports the cheapest place to buy fuel is Remich just inside Luxembourg it was just €110 per litre of Diesel and it’s also a good place for a free overnight stop and just across the river there is a German vet who speaks perfect English and will stamp your pet passport

I think Remich is now a paying aire having changed last year so you cant park adjacent to the moselle but over the other side of the road.
It is also 300 miles from the channel and the furthest point form the UK in Luxembourg where the price of diesel is exactly the same in all petrol stations.

Just filled up at morrisons in canterbury near the aire £1:18 ....

1.04€ today but another I use on the Puerto Lumbreras industrial estate it is 1,03€
