Day 2 Return to UK Test for Fully Vaccinated - Cheapest ?

I had big issues with this website, it kept saying that I needed to accept the conditions, then refusing to accept my order. I spent ages trying to sort it out. The chat feature was not working at all. No response whatsoever. I came to the conclusion that they were a suspect company, so decided to go elsewhere. I really think that this whole shambles, that is the covid testing system, is just a wild west. There are chancers and crooks out there, hiding behind some sort of Gov.uk shield, and making vast profits. And for what. What is the percentage of returnees that have proved positive after numerous very expensive tests? Is there any point in this system, this debacle. It does no good, and shows the government in a very bad light.
I am hoping that it's just a logistical problem and they can't fulfil existing orders so they are blocking sales at the moment.

We ordered two sets last week. One has been delivered but DPD website say they are still waiting for the second. Will update if we get it.

What company did you use we are due back Wednesday having trouble getting tests

We did ours with expert medicals last Friday, placed in one of their 24 hr collection points Frid afternoon, mine came back negative on Tuesday, not heard a thing about my wife's.
Not worried at all just getting on with what we had planned, having said that I wouldn't trust them if I needed one to catch a flight out etc, mostly a money making exercise!!

Also heard of several people that never bothered doing them after returning, but they hadn't been back long and who knows if anyone will ever check.
I booked my 2 day test at Bordeaux Airport coming back last Wednesday. Still hasn't arrived! Was £68.

If Im going to Portugal and have my test the morning of the flight (friday) 11am and I fly back Sunday 18:00 2 days later
will that same test be ok to use for re entry ?
Yes within 72h return. You still need the 2 day test on return though.

My family have just returned to UK from Portugal, paid for 3 x day 2 tests as required, they went back to work on Day 2, none of the tests had arrived and there is no follow up/check to see if you've done them anyway, so will now get a refund on the tests as they didn't arrive. So a completely pointless exercise.

Can I ask what company they ordered them from and did they allow a minimum of 5 working days prior to return?
My neighbour used Expert medicals as they are the cheapest, only received 3 of the 4 he ordered.

First Test £29
Day 2 test £89

In order to line the pockets of the already rich governments cronie mates
We have the option of not paying a cent to these companies by staying put. Overseas holidays are of course not mandatory :winky:

I'm currently in France, do I understand you correctly that you can buy a UK based test to perform before you return? In which case how is it certificated?

From another thread a funster listed a website I think it was below you put in where you are in France and it brings up a list of chemists where you can get tested.

The one I’ve bought says

3. When you are ready to take your test, scan the QR code on your kit or enter the ID at and follow the online instructions exactly. You must take the photo of your test cassette with your ID within 5-15 minutes of completing your test. After 15 minutes, the test result begins to blur and we may not be able to read it to give you a result.

YOU MUST FOLLOW THE ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS.

Hi all, we are booked and hoping to go to France in mid September. I have been following all the threads and making notes in preparation. I am now clear what I need to do re tests and forms (until it changes again!!) I have on query about the day two test once we are back in the uk. I know it has to be ordered before my return so that I can put a number on my Passenger Location form but can I order the test and have it delivered before I leave the UK or does it have to be delivered once I am back?

Im off to spain ,next sunday and have orered my day 2 tests yesterday,so they are here for when i return, they were £48 each from randox ,im visiting my daughter,i havent been for two years,i find it incredible that for foreign travel we have to pay ,and jump thru hoops, yet people can mix at footy matches horse racing and festivals ,and dont even have to wear masks in shops,

You can order it before you go. I was under the impression tbey would send them for the day you got home, but mine at £43 from Randox were delivered 3 days after ordering them and are here ready for when I get home.
Bolti has found a 2 day test for £40 (nationwide Pathology)

We are due to go out on the 3rd Sept I already have my return, and day 2 tests along with the number for the passenger location form.

Yes. I have. Delivery to home on Tuesday, I don’t get home for two weeks.

Apparently as I understand it you do the fit to return test and photograph it along with your passport and they email you the certificate.
We have purchased the tests and will be taking them with us.

You order the test before leaving the UK, when wanting to return to the uk take a photograph of the negative test result along side your passport then upload to C19 who will send a certificate of a negative test.

Another vote for the French Pharmacy option. There's a nationwide network performing the tests, they do it properly and give you result while you wait, including a paper certificate AND QR code. Booking is easy and it's just €25. Shows our system as a rip-off.

Fine for the pre-return test - although like others we’re opting for the £29 c19testing.co.uk option and taking the tests with us. But the real rip-off is the Day 2 testing which has to be preordered from an approved supplier - and done after returning.

Thanks for replies at least I can get my day 2 test ordered in advance and know it will be ready when I get home. (y)

Hate to be negative here but if you read the earlier posts (& even more so on Trustpilot) with some of the providers I wouldn’t be quite so confident of that!

Just arrived in France. I can confirm the process at the eurotunnel terminal is painless. Passports yes. Covid passes and declarations not interested. Got diverted to the security check lane only for the gas bottle check. Thought I was in for the bomb check and burger smuggling search!

now in Dunkirk- masks ARE being worn everywhere. The barcode checks are happening everywhere - UK paper and TousAntiCovid App are fully acceptable. Feels a lot safer than Sainsburys at home.

Stopped at Fleet services for a coffee. Place was heaving. Social Distancing and masks non- existent.
