Day 2 Return to UK Test for Fully Vaccinated - Cheapest ?

So yours will be a big no BD, we don't need to be tested on returning from medium risk areas, even if other variants are more prominent and social distancing has been none existent for the duration of our stay.😇
Do you require to be tested returning fro m the Newquay east plague hotspot 1200per 110k or no;3 on list Newquay west at 1170 per 100k?
No,I didn't think so.

Considering that the vast majority of travellers are fully vaccinated ( thus showing a degree of personal responsibility) and are tested locally at a reasonable price, (€25 here) to be allowed onto the plane/boat etc to return to the U.K. , it seems kinda pointless doubling up yet again with yet another expensive U.K. test!

24 posts of how we can get it done on the cheep or illegally avoid it altogether yet not a single mention of why these tests are mandatory.
Why do you think these tests are necessary?

You can't enter the country without completing a Passenger Locator form - you can't complete the form without a reference number from the testing company to confirm you have purchased a test kit.

You need to book them in advance as you have to enter the order number on the UK Passenger Locator Form when you return. I ordered mine last week, to be at my home when I return on 1st September. I ignored the first of those questions, as not applicable, and put Belgium, France for the second
Can I order the tests and have them delivered before I go, rather than having them delivered while I'm away. Sounds crazy but our postbox is very small and won't be emptied every day while I'm away. I'm worried that I won't get them if they are delivered in my absence.

You have to enter the date you will be back in UK, and they are meant to be delivered on or just after that date. I see no reason why you shouldn't enter an earlier date, so they arrive before you leave for your trip.

I ordered mine from expert medicals on the 13th and they came yesterday on the 20th we don't come back to uk until back end of sept which is the date we put on the form.

Slightly off topic but is anyone checking at Eurotunnel that passengers have the return test ? the 2 day test i imagine people will have as you need that for the locator form but i wonder how many people are doing the "before departure" antigen test ?

We were phoned twice before returning with them to remind us to do it, and to upload the result to euro tunnel booking page. Which we did.

Yes you need to show a negative test and it is throughtly checked when booking in for return journey.

Question please for the people who used expert medical , did your 2 day test kit come as soon as you ordered it or do they send it out nearer the time you are arriving back in the uk. thanks ordered mine on the 13th but nothing has come yet but I do have my ref number for the PLF.

It's because we yearn for the good old days of rip-off Britain, old school tie, jobs for the boys, dirty man of Europe, exchange controls, travel restrictions, feet and inches, and the UK doing its own thing because it's better than all those foreigners.

No one actually cares , just need the ref number for the PLF for the cheapest price, complete waste of time and money.

Have saved all my receipts for the day when the mis selling law firms get on the case like PPI claims 😜
I agree just something put in the way to put off the undecided from traveling, what track and trace are getting more stringent with is visiting homes to check up your there, they visited us back in June and my daughter arrived home yesterday at 5pm they visited this morning at 10am

not according to Channel Tunnel:"Vaccinated Travellers

Fully vaccinated passengers, and passengers under 12 years old, will not be required to present any forms, or negative COVID tests to enter French territory, but proof of vaccination status will need to be presented at border controls. "

went with Randox Health which are £43 with postage, £7 dearer but seem to be a good company. My 2 day tests came in a couple of days.
My sister used Randox recently abd with the discount code TUI2021 she got a fiver off.

Yes👍 They start at £48 and you can enter umpteen codes, to get the £5 off.
Would I be too cynical to suggest they added (at least) £5 to their first price? :whistle2:

By return journey I mean returning to the UK. No test are needed for entering France for vaccinated people.

👍 Though they are one of the cheapest at the moment.
If you have to travel direct to Scotland and Wales, You have to use their specific kits and they have a fixed price of £68 for a 2 day test, you are unable to buy them cheaper from private companies!

No you don't.You use the kits of the country you arrive in usually England by sea. After that you come under the common travel area that normally has no restrictions.

Thats why I said travelling directly to Scotland/ Wales, either by boat / plane/ helicopter.
You have to use their official Scottish/ Welsh 2 day/ 8 day tests. The 2 day tests are a fixed price of £68. You cant buy from a private company.

I have also tried to book with expert medical and had the same thing happen. Does anybody know if you have to register for an account to proceed with a purchase?

If Im going to Portugal and have my test the morning of the flight (friday) 11am and I fly back Sunday 18:00 2 days later
will that same test be ok to use for re entry ?

I know from work that guys have had a test in Italy, used it for a quick flight to Belgium and then caught the train to the UK. I had a colleague in Belgium do some thin similar driving through France and into Italy on one “ ticket “. It’s the time that matters.

I had big issues with this website, it kept saying that I needed to accept the conditions, then refusing to accept my order. I spent ages trying to sort it out. The chat feature was not working at all. No response whatsoever. I came to the conclusion that they were a suspect company, so decided to go elsewhere. I really think that this whole shambles, that is the covid testing system, is just a wild west. There are chancers and crooks out there, hiding behind some sort of Gov.uk shield, and making vast profits. And for what. What is the percentage of returnees that have proved positive after numerous very expensive tests? Is there any point in this system, this debacle. It does no good, and shows the government in a very bad light.
