Contemplating opening a business to support other motorhome enthusiasts traveling to Spain

Look at GB motorhometours. They are doing one of Spain and Portugal next year.

On a serious note everyone...as most of you know, on Fun we have many Spanish and Portuguese residents who have in the past, helped out and would continue to help out visiting Funsters in their hour of need...or with general enquiries...by offering this community type service, in return we have personally met some really nice people, and a few strange ones too...you know who you are.
Let's keep this going, it's part of the Fun make-up..

As for the ops original post why would you start a business doing what this forum does for free and expect payment but to be fair he doesn't actually say he wants payment, strange.

Either way, if it's a business that will genuinely help Funsters then doing some general research here is fine. But you should run it by me first. Cheers

I’m a retired person living in Spain, and I’m contemplating opening a business to support other motorhome enthusiasts during their visits here. Naturally, I need to conduct some research before making a decision.

If my business idea materializes, it could significantly benefit many individuals from other countries who travel to Spain with their motorhomes.

I’m curious if polls or surveys could be posted on the Motorhome Fun site. If that’s possible, could you please guide me on how to do it?

The only real problem I can make out from previous threads on MHF that many struggle with are vehicle breakdowns. Most other issues people seem to manage with assistance from others. Many via the odd post on MHF. Not knocking you for one second, I’m sure the business plan you’re pulling together is with best intentions, and whilst some feed back including mine is probably not what you want to hear. You can comfort yourself in knowing your stating from the right end, not like so many when starting a business without researching only to find there’s no market for their specific offering or others are already in the game. Anyway best of luck with your final decision.

As an illustration of what this forum cannot provide you for free, consider the following: do you know of many pleasant stopovers, free or not, near Madrid that offer convenient transportation options to the city center? No? Neither do I.
Would opening such a place be of help to motorhome owners coming to Spain?
This is merely an example, not necessarily something I intend to pursue.

In those circumstances I think most people would check the apps first for a stopover.
If nothing suitable appeared then they'd ask for a recommendation on here from the super helpful and knowledgeable funsters

Do you think “a few” will serve everyone coming to Madrid? Did you check them all up? All are great? You know for sure? I just gave an example of a service this or any other forum cannot provide, that is all.

And I gave you an example for one app (lots more out there) that already caters for sites. Not knocking you if you want to create another app or whatever that's your perogative.

Why doesn't the op just come on here and offer help to anyone around his area, no need for polls or anything else , that's what happens on here.
It would be better if he could give some specific idea of what he can do.
Otherwise just saying around Madrid sort of restricts a lot of advice for the rest of Spain.
He seems to be taking the hump a bit over people saying what he doesn't want to here but we are all here to give and take advice and help without turning it into a business.
What we need is some idea of what he is proposing.

I don’t think perhaps you realise just how big and active MHF is and how much real life experience of Spain there is going back many years. We’ve tried to make a few enquiries as we’re always interested in anything new to do with Motorhoming but some of your replies aren’t overly warm and friendly should you ever want our help if the idea did progress.

Okay, wouldn't suit the more adventurous who are happy to follow their noses but for the less adventurous or those on a tight schedule it could appeal.

If the op would just come on and say just exactly what he is proposing it would save all the discussion and him getting a bit upset about it.
Is he going to let you park in his garden ?
Is he going to find you a garage or even mend your van if you break down?
Is he just going to point out the best places to go?

There's someone does northern Spain tours and also Morocco tours but using your own motorhome. It's the guy who also wrote a few books on the same subjects. He's active on Motorhome FUN Facebook. The MotorhomeFun Funsters.
