Andy - I nominate you to keep this thread updated after tomorrow, please. We are escaping on Friday morning and wild camping for a night rather than battle against the tide to get out on Silly Saturday. There will be 25 vans per hour arriving from 9am. I can see them queuing up along the top of the lane, and probably back out to the roundabout.Looking better, Maz!
I’ll see what happens on Saturday........

wild camp in one of the new lay-bys.
We’ll be well away from Cirencester Park - and any other vaguely touristy areas.wild camp in one of the new lay-bys.
Good to hear that it hasn’t been total carnage!Well, up at Cirencester Park today - and, I’m happy to report, everything seems to be running ok! There are C&MC chaps at either end of the road with radios to allow traffic in/out; the alterations to the lay-bys etc., have made a big difference to the ‘feel’ of the approach road; there was no queue on the main road (despite the local council closing one lane for hedge trimming!!) so it’s a big ‘well-done’ to the C&MC for taking action and sorting-out what could have been a big problem! The site looks pretty full, with lots of happy campers everywhere!
Is that 6 man inches swmbo wants to know....Things are starting to happen .......
Excavations with a small digger began today. Some of the lay-bys are being extended, with their corners being lopped off to make access to them easier. The blind bend is being made gentler, but will still be pretty blind. A lot of the rocks have been pushed about 6 inches further back from the carriageway. This work is being done by the CMC’s contractors - presumably at the CMC’s cost.
