Are these 18L water heaters any good?

I assume it's gas (lpg?) because of it being 36kw ....and the dial on the left, though it's difficult to read ...

Looks like it could be useful as a static caravan heater, though a combi type boiler that also provides heating might be preferred in the UK.

that is serious amps for a house ..most dometic supplies are 50 or 80A

Electric or gas, I assume gas because of it being 36kw ....or is it a different fuel?

Our neighbours across the road have just had an electric boiler fitted to replace their old LPG boiler and the new electric boiler is only 12Kw to heat a 3 bed bungalow.

I thought the same Jim, never thought of gas.
I doubt a gas bottle and regulator would never allow enough gas through for 36kw so only suitable for mains supply.

No, needs a mains gas supply.

Fitted 16ltr version in horse box conversion,works great from LPG, needs good water pump 30psi for decent flow

It's rated at 2800Pa, your gas regulator is 3000Pa, I'm no expert but surely that is within tolerances...

What water pump did you use?
Can I use a pressure switch with pump so will get water on demand from tap?

Shurflo 30 psi,used domestic style taps, copper pipes soldered fittings

They are great,I had one for the shower on our CL.(Circa 15yrs) ,worst problem is they need a good flow of water to get a sensible temperature in summer,so you'll need a decent size storage tank.Also have 1 in our property in Spain.
Still got a new one that I bought as a spare for the CL,never needed it.And a second used half a dozen times in PVC,(Found it needed more water than was convenient to carry for off site use),so changed it for a carver with added digital thermostat control.(have 2 spare carvers for future part of needed)
