Will there be any hard standing available on Monday night, for those of us who were planning to leave on Tuesday...?

I wouldn’t worry Norman, everyone will be needing a tow so the tractor is bound to be around!!!

Easter Sunday is 21st April next year so nearly summer ;)
My son was born on 23/4 and it was a very sunny and warm day if a tad uncomfortable for me. I could see staff on their breaks sitting in the courtyard soaking up the rays

We were at Malory Park a few years ago, it made Chester look bone dry, I saw many hands hanging out of car windows with big notes in them. It was a good day to be a tractor driver.

Guess who inspired us to go, none other than Carol and Eddie, the Mud Meisters.

I've just been saying, as olde fartes do, "I cannot remember a colder Easter in over 70 years. Do you remember when we'd tow the boat to Wales and ski at Easter".

Is there a charge for this service?

@Linda and Steph there is no charge but some of us do give the driver a tip he has been very good,

Left Chester yesterday after enjoying 2 days on site and in the town. Had to enter the "Boot" pub, as one does, to sample their ales along with Mr and Mrs Toledo and Chochyboy. A most enjoyable experience not to be missed.

A big thank you to Carol and Eddie for all the help we received and to Dave and Polly for all their work. They were all truly the stars of the meet.

Hope everyone manages to get off the ground without problems. We left early because of family issues, coupled with the threat of sinking below the water line, and managed to "float" off without the aid of the tractor or tug boat.

Now looking forward to Peterborough and hoping the the swimming pool will be smaller than Chester and not so deep.

We will also be looking to leave today, I guess we just keep an eye out for the tractor driver?

Wonder if tractor drivers do rain dances? I still owe the tip for being dragged on so will have to double up (no notes until I got to bank):)

@Carol what time are the back butties this morning please and when do u want us to bring the cakes over to eat (not completion level :D) for the coffee morning?x

Thank you for organising this rally @Carol and to all those that supported you. I enjoyed the event even though my van is now awash with mud. It was great to get to make new friends and I particularly enjoyed the the welcome for solos & newbies that @Cal54 hosted.

I now have a new first i.e. being towed off an event - quite an experience for the uninitiated. Even better was the fact that the tractor was a Massey Ferguson as Dad always had those. :)

Noooooooo, Janine, the Boot is the "IN" place as far as we are concerned. There may be pretenders but all hail to the Boot, Samuel Smiths holy tavern, none like it nor comes anywhere near! :drinks:

I too would like to express my thanks to Carol, Eddie, Dave and Polly, Loren and Alan (still like your aftershave Alan!! Lol) and not forgetting Joy, Chris and Wendy who marshalled for me on Thursday - you all did and amazing job. And who could forget Ray @Swansea Jack !!!
I can’t imagine how time consuming and difficult it is to arrange such an event and doubly difficult when the rain gods have it in for you,!!
Thanks to all participants - I hope everyone gets home ok.

PS: for those that watched the towing this morning I was the one being towed backwards at speed with my eyes closed - more scary than a ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach!!!!

Huge thank you to @Carol and Eddie,@Allan & Loren and Dave and Polly for your efforts over this weekend and for organising the event, despite the weather it was still a great event, everybody commented on our swimming pool outside the van :D2.
We had a great night in the marquee on Saturday and I would like to say thanks to @haganap , @swanseajack13 , @Silkcut1105 and Diane and Steve for making us feel welcome and to @Jimbo50 for their company over the weekend, hope you all have a safe journey back.
Dave & Kathie
