So looking forward to this Rally . Did any funsters eat out whilst there last year ? Any recommendations . We ate in weatherspoons was ok but would like to visit other places this year . Bill said there was pubs selling Ales @£1 two years ago any one know where and which pub ? X
Kate

not been out in CHester for ages but The Brewery Tap and Old Harkers are good for food and beer

The pub that does the really cheap beer is "The Boot" up on the rows also it's sister pub The Falcon does good cheap beer . The choice of eating places in Chester is amazing now a new one that opened recently was a eat a much as you like. I'll find out when I'm in Chester Monday.

@Carol there is a pub that you can take your dogs in cannot remember the name but up a dead end street and the food was good also a café that dogs can go in if you walk the wall its on the river side good food as well ray xx lol still lol and they allow husbands in :Grin:guess what I'm shouting winners of the quiz bring it on the cheat @Popeye is not going :heartbreak::cry:

No good for some funsters-they'll still be on diets :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

@hilldweller la Taska was one of my favourites but that one was closed a couple of months ago, not sure what they are changeing it into. In Pepper Street now there is a huge selection of eating houses as well as all the pubs scatered around Chester.

The Commonhall Street Social is dog friendly and the food was nice, a bit of a hipster type place and a bit more than a £1 a pint but a good selection of beers. A walk upstream gets you to Grosvenor park that has a dog friendly café and the Ship Inn across the Handbridge is dog friendly too. You won't be short of places to eat. The Boot although cheap isn't dog friendly and if you go looking for it, be aware that it's on the first floor up some stairs, took me a while to suss that out using Google Earth on my phone.

P.s Terry said that he thinks it was just a Chinese takeaway and can't remember from where....

Thanks Lisa .. must have been RichardW that went to a Chinese. .. That chez Jules looks good though. The Ellesmere Port one is too far away but worth bearing in mind for the Wirral meet that Wildge started. :)

Chez Jules is very very good but you often have to book to get in. x

Thanks Carol.. they may be full then .. restaurants not keen on wasting a table for a solo when you phone up to book. :(

Looks a bag of chips again then. ;)

Terry's just remembered that he did go to a chinese restaurant in Chester...it was a first and last date with a lovely lady, but he still doesn't remember where it was. He said the food was gorgeous though.
@Carol - do you know where this was? ;)x

@rosierose lol, I will see if the lovely young lady knows the name. x

Mmm Bill and I love Chinese X
