It hasnt spoilt my weekend at all, ive just got on with it. Enjoyed looking around the festival yesterday, even though it was cold, but managed to get inside to watch a couple of demonstrations and it was nice and warm in there. Enjoyed it in the Fun marque on both nights. Looking forward to going into Chester tomorrow for another look around once I am on solid ground with the van.

Thank you all for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed the walk, if you have any suggestions for improving it (other than stopping the rain!) please feel free to PM me.

Time and schedules allowing (and if @Carol is up for it), hopefully we can run something again next year.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable journey home.

Thanks again

Thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome - a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Hope everyone gets off the site without too many problems and safe onward journeys. Special thanks to my walk buddies, quiz buddies and cheese buddies for putting up with me and all the guys for a handy push this morning!!

For anyone thinking of leaving today and coming back over the tops both the Snake and Woodhead Passes are closed.

All waiting for the tractor to come on duty...

I think that we are going to admit defeat and go home today - even the dog doesn't want to walk through the mud anymore :-(

Think positively !

The rain will clean your tyres, wheel arches etc

That didn't happen to those of us who left yesterday

The Woodhead is now passable with caution.

Surely it can't be more than a smattering of snow, have they forgotten how to run a snow plough.
We had a about 3" overnight and the Woodhead will have had considerably more and on the exposed areas on the tops it drifts and fills in almost as soon as it is cleared.

Just a thought...I wonder what the cost implications are to repair that ground in comparison to providing temporary tracks to drive on and off, the only bloke that’s laughing is the tractor driver....loadsamoney :D2
