Chap taking picture of my MH

The fact he was taking photos would not bother me. I have had custom VW’S, Hot Rod and big RV’s. So you get peaple taking photos all the time the same as I do when I see something interesting.
It’s the being on your property for no reason that I would not like.

You want to be careful with the stand alone post box Guz- lopez , that is how criminals are stealing peoples identity, heard of one person who had his house deeds altered to another name.
quick point on this, there s a lnd registry service you can register now for free that alerts you if someone tries to change information on up to 10 properties

edit, sorry Just seen Joshpens post

Is there a 'beware of the human' sign too????
I used to have the 'beware of the dogs ' sign here as it is a legal requirement. In the UK I had a 'don't be concerned about the dogs ,the owner is far more dangerous'
Why would I be confrontational about someone taking photos or looking at my vehicles?
He was in the back/side of the garden.

There are some threads on here I read and think I've woke up on some parallel universe where every paranoid person lives.

Other times I'm sure it's an advert for an alarm company or some other trader/dealer etc

Madness.
Very well said.

remove all the fuses, stick on axle stands
, lock wheels away, put a sticky with fuc* off on the door handle
Fit security locks to doors, windows, foot pedals, steering wheel, external lockers, front seats how many others?

Me too Mikey, I see folk photo & videoing me in some of my motors and think to myself It's obviously my movie star looks etc they're after! 🤣🤣
When I had the big vans I had a lot of people taking pics, once in Turkey I had a bride & groom getting their pictures taken at my van so I opened the doors and got them to climb in to the driver & passenger seats for some pics and they were delighted 🙂 lol

What a bunch of negative thinking, frightened woosies who only see the bad in people and who are so tough they would assault someone first and ask questions later, we seem to have as posters on this site.

All you "glass half full" folk sadden me.

If the fear of all those horrid people wanting to steal your motorhome stresses you out so much, so often, may I respectfully suggest you sell it (watching out for counterfeit money or dodgy money transfers of course) as your enjoyment of the vehicle must surely be severely diluted by all the worry.

JJ

It's all probably nothing, a friend of mine found a bloke taking photographs of his bedroom, in particular his bed, his wife must have rushed to let him in as she was downstairs, very red faced due to her rushing about. The bloke said he really liked his bed and was looking to get one himself, my mate was very suspicious and thought the bloke might try and steal his bed, but it all turned out to be a false alarm and his bed was never stolen .... 🤔🤔😁😁😁

Whoa ... A man with a camera taking photos? Now if it were a bag of spanners or a few screwdrivers then it would be a concern. Not sure what a camera or phone , would do or could do to be honest? Im on the side of the wife....Over the top possibly? Anyway....Im guessing its insured ? If so...Dont worry. Oh.....unless you have it insured for being in storage and not on your drive of course....;)(y)
This is a crappy reply (IMHO) "Insured... don't worry" who on earth would not mind their MH being stolen and getting insurance payout? Criminal gangs are everywhere and use all underhand methods to get your pride and joy. Have you ever tried to claim?
I would suggest people guard their expensive possessions with everything in their arsenal. Especially as a total stranger was trespassing and taking photos of it! Even if he was a postman he should know the rules and I expect he could be disciplined if his employer were to be informed.

Most modern vehicles require the vin/ chassis number to be displayed at the bottom corner of the windscreen , although that doesn't reveal the security code/ data imbedded in the key , it's feasible that someone within the dealer network could get access and program a new key . That would be more useful than a bag of spanners. Not saying that was what he was up to , but the scenario has happened before and is used legitimately for the purpose of repossessing a vehicle.

Or maybe he was a scout - looking out for suitable 'uplifts' in the area... ya can never be too careful! :cautious:

I really don’t now I’ve talked to him. He was delivering post but in civvies. Just wasn’t sure watching him on the Ring camera been told he may work for private post service.
Royal Mail and Parcel Force using loads of Agency people at the moment, who won’t have uniform

my wife & I were out this afternoon not far from home when our Ring camera pinged & it showed a chap taking a picture of our brand new MH. ( only picked it up Friday) it did look like he delivered something but no uniform or vehicle. So I spun the car around & saw walking down a driveway but to the back off the house, so I pulled him asking why he was taking pictures. It did turn out to be innocent, but my wife said I over reacted, I wasn’t aggressive but was a little forceful in my questioning. Was I over reacting? I don’t think so.
Criminal gangs send out spotters to find certain vehicles that are desirable, take photos and then try to sell them before stealing it or to use photos in a fake advertisement to con people out of their deposit

Anyone taking pictures of a motorhome parked on private property is acting suspiciously regardless of any explanation. If the pictures include the vehicle reg. number and are then shown to someone else they may be breaching the data protection act. They could even be cloning the number plates. The trespasser in question had no right to do so without your permission. If he's innocent then he is not very bright. I've had a vehicle stolen from my drive and regardless of insurance it still is a most unpleasant feeling to find a vehicle one cherishes gone. I am also troubled by people ringing my doorbell and asking about the motorhome who do not go away immediately when told it is not for sale. One guy even had the cheek to tell me I should put a sign on my MH stating that it is not for sale. Everyone who has enquired so far has been persistent and spoke with an Irish accent. Please don't be taken in by any BS story and treat anyone showing uninvited interest with an exceedingly high index of suspicion. Its your motorhome to lose so beware.

What I can't understand is these"auditor" people on YouTube , they get these drone things up and photograph all sorts of things and apparently there is nothing you can do about it, if you confront them about it they get the police on you and you get arrested.
So why would someone stand there in front of van when he could be filming it from somewhere where you couldn't see him

and what do you do for the second week of your holiday
I like that, we went on Holiday to Maderia for 19 days and had to take the MH out of a Cassowa storage site and store it on our drive for the period cos the starter battery gets to low in the winter months, that’s another story. Obviously alarmed, but because it is usually on the cassowa site, I don’t bother with other device other than a steering lock. In this occasion though, I hemmed the van in on the drive with both our other cars, steering lock and alarm, and tracker. One of my cars has all round cameras that I can dial in as well, but I checked the tracker (and the geofence would also ping us) regularly. The lengths we go to to protect our vans!

He probably hasn't been paid yet for the last motorhome and can't afford a drone. 🤔

We all have to start somewhere? 😄
