CCP planning up to 1,000 aires

We’re currently on a CCP at Incheville, massive size pitches well spread out. Not on top of one another 6amp HU, fresh water and dump, all for 14euro. 9 on here at moment, 4 of which UK.

We are currently on an AirePark at Arras. It is large and full up.
12:20 euros including tax. Price includes large marked out pitch on good hard standing tarmac, EHU, services, self cleaning toilet and shower.
They seem to be a competitor to Camping Car Parks which can only be a good thing.

We stayed there 2 months ago, a huge ‘car park’ with the largest marked out pitches of its type I’ve seen in France

Definitely, competition never hurt anyone.

Have CCP changed their payment system? In June you could get in with your card and pay the cost of your night(s) stay on the way out. Now when you come to pay you have top up in 10’s of Euros. So 10-20-30 etc to cover the cost of your stay and more. So inevitably you end up having to pay more than your nights stay with the balance against your next stay.

Great value and for mortals not wanting or willing to pay for elaborate lithium setups the little bit of EHU is great.

Think 10 euros is the minimum top up amount but you can top up any amount above 10 euros. And as that amount stays in your account for life it's not too bad.

Last time we were at a CCP in June, we had just about enough on it to cover our stay and were not required to top up our account. We had €6.27 left when we departed.

That is how it works, there is no auto top up, however, if you wish to stay again you will need to top your card up by a minimum of 10e.

The way it worked up until recently was that you didn’t need to top it up with credit unless you wanted to. You just needed to pay the full cost of a night(s) stay on exit.

Think it changed a year or so ago . Basically means you always have to be in credit

Instinctively that sounds bad, but is it? If they’re in the business of acquiring municipal sites by purchase or lease they’ll expect a return on investment, not competition from local partners.
They run the Aires in partnership with the Communes, sharing the profit.

When you do a review if there's anything that you didn't like or that needs attending to, they alays come back to say they will let the owner or the local team know about it.

For the first time this year, we had a barrier that wasn’t working at a CCP. It was about 6/7pm when we called the number and were immediately put through to an English speaking operative who let us in. In the morning we had to wait longer - 10 mins or so and it was a French speaking call handler. As I speak French I didn’t ask if they spoke English so that may have been available.

I think they’re a good organisation, allowing provision of a dale space in towns that perhaps have closed municipals or couldn’t afford their maintenance and they are much cheaper than a campsite.

I would love to see more in Belgium - there’s one coming in Mons next year. Bruges and Ghent would be great.

I do wish there was an option for a cheaper non-electric pitch as we didn’t use hook up at all this year but we are possibly in the minority.

That's the way it was still working a couple of weeks ago, when we were using them.
If you top up at the machine, it gives you the option of either topping up in multiples of 10 Euros, or of paying for a number of nights.
I always choose to top up by 1 night before exit.

Yes we agree with everything you have said.

Agreed, but we all know there are unscrupulous people out there who would pay the lower price then connect to a hook up point anyway.
A bit like the MHs we've seen parked outside CCP sites with a long cable plugged into electric, there's always someone who wants something for free.

We had two this autumn. One in a big truck conversion. Parked on the pavement. Filled their water tank and dumped black waste. I hosed the ground afterwards as he left "solids" around the bollard and on the paving.

French as well. I thought at first British as they had a staffy shit machine. Didn't clear up after that either.

I hope you unugged them, even better if you have cutter with you could cut the plug off their lead. 🤣

Some of the posts on CCP sites won't give fresh water unless the card is swiped on a reader on the post. Doesn't stop them dumping black waste, but it's something at least.

If the CCP site is completely full, I have some sympathy, but if it's not they just want something for nothing, with me paying for it.

Unmanned ... if CCP employed Wardens ... :imoutahere:

I was tempted but discretion (or cowardice) got the better of me :ROFLMAO: I'm all for a quiet life these days.
