Afternoon Guys 😊. Just looking at joining a caravan and motorhome club for booking on campsites really. Is it recommended by you lot out there??

As stewartwebr said, there are are many discussions if you use the 'Search' facility. Here's just one as an example...........

We are in both clubs and use the sites occasionally, we also use Caravan and Motorhome Club to book ferries especially if we are going from Hull as their rates are much better than booking direct.

You will get both sides of the argument, for and against. However I think that you will find the most vociferous are those that are anti. Those who are for seem more contented with their lot - us included. You pay your money, you take your choice. I think you would be as well trying for a year and then make your own mind up.

We saved £100 (ish) on our recently booked Plymouth to Roscoff ferry so already in the black.
Great deal on Mayday, both cars and MH covered for less than both cars last year.
Have stayed on some great CLs for c£25 per night

We joined both in our first year, sites can be expensive but facilities are normally very good especially if using ehu. I use cards for discount on a few outlets go outdoors being one. I also got £60 off insurance so more than paid for itself.

I like a ccc site, you always feel safe with your children and the facilities are normally very good. The Temporary Holiday Sites are fantastic and cost as little as £10 per night and are friendly. I think it's nice to have different options when your 'out and about'.

Well it’s a subject that seems to be very divided if I’m being honest. I think I’ll probably pay a year and see what I get out of it. I did initially think it was a bit Dear to pay, but if I pay I’ll have to make sure I use it. Thank you to all of your help 😊👍

We like the CL network as well as the main sites which are usually in places we want to visit. In both clubs the temporary sites are very good value and again, in places we want to be for festivals or events, such as the Bristol Balloon Festival, Royal international Air Show etc. in the Caravan and Motorhome Club, you have to search under the District Centres as these type of pop up sites are organised by volunteers of the centre and usually distribute any profits to local charities.

C&CC sites cater for both Caravans and Motorhomes + tents and are cheaper than CAMC. CAMC is run by a management who lost their listening skills years ago and yes I am being kind.

Haven't used a CAMC site for three years. I remain a member for the CL network although I have noticed of late that quite a few of new CLs are starting to charge silly money. As mentioned by other C&CC THS's are good value.

You'd be amazed how many nice independent sites there are, do not dismiss websites like Pitchup etc as a free option.

Our membership lapsed and as we are without van at moment will wait until it arrives and make a decision then. CAMC have a few sites within easy reach of London, Abbeywood and Crystal Palace, which is useful if you want to go to London. Also we used a few of their sites in the Covid gap in Scotland.

We don't normally use campsites but we wanted to do all servicing before a ferry to a Greek island and stayed at a campsite with all services, and a nice taverna, for €10.

We use CAMC only for their CLs, which we've been very happy with. We don't much like bigger sites so have never used theirs, these are the ones that seem to get the negative comments on prices.

I've been a CMC member for many years. I will be renewing my membership in a few moths. Sometimes the CMC does leave me wondering what it is doing but overall, it's convenient for us.
