We arrived at Sardina del Norte in Gáldar yesterday and found a large area where motorhomes can park and stay so we are here for a couple of days. It's quite windy but seeing as the temperature is getting above 38ºC in other parts of the island, we are quite happy. Just had lunch in a lovely restaurant on the way to the port. Very good it was too.View attachment 937811View attachment 937812View attachment 937813View attachment 937814View attachment 937815

Absolute beginners.
Here are a couple of photos from the area. as you can see, it's a bit overcast today but quite cool so all is good.View attachment 937821View attachment 937823
Spent many hours surfing on that beach. Found a short cut through the banana plantations.
The water is very sandy though. It forms a curios wave though, that the locals have mastered which involves barely moving forwards, just along the wave, brilliant when it clicks. I got a round of applause from the local Yoof, when I mastered it on my simple travel surfboard just 2' long.
Mike.

Playa de San Felipe today. It's our first camping site and it has all facilities except EHU, but solar is doing just fine. €7 a night, which I thought was reasonable. As you can see in the photos, it's not the lush green that all you guys 'n girls post, but as I said before - if it doesn't rain all year you cannot expect vegetation. It's what we are used to here. The only noise is from the waves crashing on the pebble beach in front of us. Happy days.

So we are in Tenerife for a few days and are parked up at the Santiago del Teide recreational area for the night. It's on the road side but is quiet at night I have been informed. Bbq area with tables and seating are available.

Strange to think that when I was last in Tenerife & Las Parmas in the mid 60's, these places were known only as bunkering locations for refueling the ships between Europe and South America, how life has changed! 😄

Absolutely, they also played an important role in the second world war, for their strategic position obviously.

Strange to think, even though we were only there for a few hours, we never even thought about going shoreside? 😄
I'm not sure anything was there even if we had? 😄
