We know it's not a Cadac. Can't believe no one has asked what type of bbq you are using - and where did the Son of Hibachi disappear to?

It’s a proper bbq and it cooks fatty duck very well
They’re not white crocks
They’re organic duck egg grey from Waitrose finest collection

This thread is becoming very slightly duckist....... I’ll keep away from your gas powered grill and retreat to my charcoal powered BBQ to properly cook some thick slices of 28 day deceased cow/Bambi/Shaun the sheep with real flavour. :whistle2:

A friend tells me that Duck is much better seared in a dry pan........ and served with home made blackberry jus, mange tout and crushed rooster potatoes. I would not know.

I have a Cadac safari chef if you leave the lid on you can get it hot enough to sear meat and enough to leave lines. I would suggest there are some out there that do not know how to operate said equipment correctly;) The cleaning is also easy, once finished cooking put the lid on, heat it up on full gas, once very hot drop the lot in a bucket of soapy water and all the crud drops off, simples.

PM me your address I'll bring the grog!

Nowt wrong with a cadac as long as you're happy with fried food.
A bbq involves charcoal - end of.

Great thread this- I have no experience of Cadac or BBQ whilst motorhoming

We prefer a charcoal bbq. We've been using a foldup stainless steel one from the range lately, its very good its shaped like an inverted pyramid with a hole in the bottom and a grill for the charcoal to sit on with a plate under it, so no need for a chimney, firelighter on the plate charcoal on the grill and whoosh, 20 minutes later and your cooking, great for two travelling.just got to be a bit carefull where you use it because its low to the ground.

Best of all because its small and s/s its easy to clean

Lotus are worth looking at for a charcoal BBQ. Only uses just over a mug of charcoal, so no carrying loads of bags around plus you can cook on a table top (outside) as the heat doesn’t transfer to either the outside or the bottom of the unit. Up and ready to cook in 10 from lighting. We like it.

Not sure it would handle grass cutters bad boys - neither could I.
