Camping-car park

CCP call centre work 24/7 365 days, and if you have completed all your membership info on their website including your mobile phone number your call will be recognised by the system, answered by a person speaking your native language and they will know your name and even where you are if you are using one of their aires.
Le Grand Frère vous surveille.

Which is just one of the reasons I don't have a smartphone.

A smart phone is not required for the system to "know". They know your location because they track where you are using your card. I don't have a problem with it as it worked well to help me and all the other users of the Caen aires when late one evening the local authority damaged a major power cable and plunged a large section of Caen into chaos for about 16 hours. CCP phoned each member on site with updates and voluntarily gave a free night to all. Can you imagine CAMC doing that .

On some CCP sites caravans are allowed. You can find the information on each site's description entry. The Mon Village tend to allow them.
That's correct, but only if the site has facilities and they are open.

You're wise to book. Not sure where you are but I've just been looking at the CCP sites in Brittany and they are all, with a few exceptions, full.
Does anybody know how early you can book the same day. We want to visit St Etienne tomorrow so want to try and make sure we can get a space at the Camping car Aire. I've got the pack privilege so no problem with same day booking but I want to give myself the best chance of getting a space

Go on the website or ring them up I think you can book upto six months in advance if you have the privilege pack

i booked at 5.45 am this morning for Bricquebec-en-Cotentin. It showed how many spaces were available

I've been right through the t's & c's but can't find anything. Booking over 48hrs and up to 6 months is no problem but I want to be able to 'book the same day' tomorrow. It's not a big enough deal to call them tbh but just wondered if anybody had booked the same day before 12 noon

See my reply above. I booked my site at Briquebec early this morning and now happily sat outside drinking ….. and eating of course. As long as they have vacancies you should be able to book.

For the most part the French go on holiday 14th July (Bastille Day) till the end of August. During those times booking in some of the really popular areas is wise; otherwise it is very unlikely to be required. We have have used the network extensively and only needed to book once.

Sad person that I am I even have a photo of one, I think the designs differ but they generally look something like this. If the barrier doesn't open when you come to leave check what the LCD screen is saying. Our usual reason is "Insufficient funds" meaning you forgot to top up the account. It will be in French but is understandable. Look for something like "Insuffisant". :)

They seem to vary we got fooled by one it was just a green box inside the barrier you had to walk to. I was waving my card at different bits on the payment bollard until a French man came over and sorted me out.

I tried various waving of the card then realised it was actually where the key pad was…. I even tried putting my number in.. wanted my card over it and voila 🤣

I’m thinking about going to France Spain for the winter months, can you just turn up at a site and join or do you have to become a member before you can use their sites.

Also can you use the services of these sites only and not stay the night and what would the cost be.
Thanks

Turn up at the site and you can join there and then, It will issue a card which you keep topped up, pay on way out. If in doubt give them a ring they speak excellent English, the only time we have found one full is like some others at Lion Sur Mer in Normandy, mind you it is on one of the invasion beaches so is a popular site. It may be worth checking that the services will be left on in the winter as a lot of the places turn off the water . If you are travelling through France look for the sign with a motorhome on and a waste tank under it, that will direct you to a service point, most are free others a couple of euros

Currently at St Germain sur ay. Lovely little place near a massive beach and local facilities. No loos but electric, Wi-Fi hotspot, washing machines and a fuel stop which is quite cheap.
The only downside so far is the very odd lady nearby who has just dropped her very smelly grey waste out of her van on her pitch…disgusting. We are 20m away from the water drop area too. 😡😡

Yes just go to machine and press the union jack button for English and enroll. It will give you a card for €5 and charge you 1 night for that site. You can go onto any site for 5 hours to service which I think costs about €5.

I hope you had words with her.

We are currently on a pre-booked pitch at a site which expires at midday. We want to stay till about 4pm and they do a 5hr tariff. Do we just stay put then when we leave it will just charge us the €6 on exit?

Don't know how it works with a booked pitch but usually you just draw on and pay when you exit, no mention of how long you are staying on arrival.

It might try to charge you for the full period, this happened to us once. You could phone them before leaving or sort it out later by phone. I suggest calling first before you leave.
