Camping-Car Park Changes

On a CCP site in France tonight. The water/toilet disposal bollard has a keypad to make the fresh water work (stops the FLTs blagging free water). I presume that the card or the code will work on there as well.
 
Just a quick update from an email I received today, you will no longer be able to top up your account from the machines, you will need to use the app or ring customer services, the card will continue to work for entry and exit but if you loose it, it will not be replaced and you will need to use the code from the app. Also no more noon to noon charging periods, your 24hrs starts on entry and renews 24hrs later.

Your 24 hours always did start from time of entry, it was only pre booking where it applied from noon to noon as far as I know.

I got the email too, but don't understand this bit, It's always been 24hrs from when you arrive, unless they mean if you pre-booked, which I've never done.

I've never pre booked either and I think it was DBK who highlighted that if you pre book it's noon to noon.
That's quite a disadvantage to me, but looks like it's changed for the better.

Figaro, if you log on to the CCP website and select "my account" then "my profile" you can set your spoken language to "English". Then any emails you receive from them should be in English.
 
At least the card if you have one will still work according to the email earlier today. makes it easier. We've yet to experience any problems with barriers. The email says that you can't top up using the "automaton", which I assume is the barrier screen?

From March, according to my translation of the French, only on the app or by phone. Not at the barrier. You will have a code on your app for the barrier, or you will be able to tap your card; they won’t be issuing any more cards in future.

I've just looked and it's set to English.
I'm sure email used to arrive in English, but altered at some point.
Anyway I've just reset it and see what happens with the next one they sent

Just as a heads up, if you haven't used their service for over 18 months and have a positive balance you may find the app shows a zero balance, just contact them and they will reinstate it, I used WhatsApp to contact them as emailing them from the app doesn't seem to work with UK post codes and phone numbers which appear to be required fields in their email form.
 
I have just looked at my account on a laptop. With same day booking it begins at time of booking (even at say 6am) until midday the following day.
I show photo of test booking.
For bookings more than 48hrs ahead it is still midday to midday (shown as 11am)
See attached photo.
Therefore no change to normal booking.
There has to be a fixed time for bookings so midday to midday, however, on same day bookings if space available on day of booking then it begins there and then.
Some sites are very busy in the summer so they need to have an arrival and departure time to accommodate other bookings.
If a site is full and you have a booking, you cannot enter until midday which is when other persons should have departed and freed up the space.
If a site is not full but you have a booking, you can enter BUT that will be classed as a service/parking entry and will incur the cost.
If not over 5 hours then your booking takes effect at midday.
You may witness people queueing before midday even when site is full, this is because space usually is freed up at midday.
People with bookings ending that day may have left at say 8am, but still have the right to come and go until midday so until then that space is not available.

So what happens if someone inputs the wrong code and it happens to be mine?
There'll be a check digit (usually the last digit) using a hash (series of mathematical processes), same as your bank cards, I would imagine, so you'll be more likely to win the lottery! 😀
