Just booked our 1st trip to France in the Motorhome for September, I was trying to get a Physical Camping Carpark Card & have Downloaded the App which apparently gives me the Digital preference, my question is how do I get a Physical Card as that is what I would prefer, it doesn't seem to have anywhere on there to order & pay for one , thanks for any help Chris.

I always do it before. I don't think it matters though. You'll have to try it. We do really like CCP . You can replenish and empty and it offers that extra bit of security compared to a free park up.
I do the same usually put €50 before i leave then top up as needed. I linked a Caxton card to it (as well as Halifax clarity) as i topped that up last year and early this year at a much better rate than now. This last trip i used a dozen of CCP sites and have been a member for a while and also have the pack'privileges so i can pre-book,I do have the card as well as the app and can confirm that it doesn't take money until you leave mainly because it doesn't know how long you will be staying or if you are just going in to use the facilities. (5 hours plus use of facilities for €6 or if you don't like the site it gives you so long to check it out and if you don't like it move on and it won't charge you)The new terminals where you have to present the card are also an improvement as previously i have seen plenty of vans parking outside and entering the site for free water and running leads through the fence for electric. The Calais site which has over a 100 places has half a dozen terminals and bins outside the gate so if just emptying your toilet you don't need to go inside and you can also drop grey and fill with water (with the card).I was surprised this year to find quite a lot of French vans turning up who were not members and were struggling at the gate to join and register a card.

We also really liked the (new) one in Falaise, perfect location under the castle,
Yes it's a good Aire in a nice town.
It'll be interesting to see it in a year or two when they finish the river works. They're changing it from a concrete culvert to more of a babbling brook. The part by the Aire is already done, but section by the historic city gate is work in progress

(5 hours plus use of facilities for €6 or if you don't like the site it gives you so long to check it out and if you don't like it move on and it won't charge you) .... 10 minutes to move on, however if you have prebooked no refunds for cancellations within 48 hrs as I discovered this year. Site 1 - Moulsimes moved on within 25 minutes as we discovered the facilities were in a disgusting state with excrement plastered over the walls - no refund . Site 2 Chalon Sur Saone was the be the second night but as we moved on from Moulsimes we bypassed it ... understandably no refund. Site 3 not booked - Montigney le Roi - pulled up at the barrier - from where we could see into the gents toilet - it looked like a cow had been in there previously needless to say we moved on. I will not be renewing the privileges pack next year. CCP have been provided with photographic evidence.

There are some very nice CCPs, however I will never book in advance again and will endeavour to allow enough time to find an alternative should I find a disgusting one. As an example this year Dorat, LeMans, Seysell, Chaumont, Beaulieu sur Loire, Ingrandes le Fresne, have been good.

That's the main reason I don't bother with the privilege pack, I seldom know in advance where I want to be the following night. And never had a problem getting space when I turn up.
I'm surprised to hear about facilities in a bad state, all the CCP I've been on have had excellent clean working services, but I guess even they're sustainable to dirty scroats trashing the place. If you had rung the office I'm sure they'd have sent someone out to rectify the problem
They seem to have a team of mobile maintenance guys on call.
At Falaise last month the electric to the site went off, french man next door rang and technician arrived in half an hour.
The site connection to the grid looks to be a temporary affair being a new site and a quick fiddle around sorted it out 👍

That'd be my suggestion too.

CCP do have locally-based staff available 'on-call' to respond to issues which can't be resolved remotely.

Sounds like he was on a camp site not an Aire and it's not CCP fault it's the dirty buggers using it making the mess.

Not the best time to go to Ile de Re, it's chockablock, wild camping is prohibited and enforced. There is now one CCP site at St Clements. Previously this was a much abused site by the freeloaders. We enjoyed a couple of hours recently spectating those who obviously got in free Previously driving away when they saw the new set up!
