Camper NE go bust

These stories are all shocking. We bought our van from them but seem to have luckily escaped unscathed. Fingers crossed for everyone else that you get your vans sorted or some money back :(

To those who used camperne where are you going to get your service and mot done now? Any recommendations? The guys that works on the maintenance side were amazing. Wish I had their numbers. Wonder if they’ve moved somewhere else..
We bought our van from CamperNE - over 7 years ago now so well before all this trouble.
Living on Teesside we have never taken it back there for servicing. We have that done by a mobile mechanic we have known for about 30 years. He takes it to a local MoT station to get the test done.

Ooo mobile mechanic sounds fab! Does he cover north Tyneside?? Stanley and Tyne valley are a bit of a trek for us..

I wonder if any of the old camperne guys have gone independent or mobile..

I was thinking that the person who bought it at auction bought a stolen vehicle and under those conditions I thought the police could repossesse it and return it to its rightful owner.
I've spoken to the auction house then the buyer who was a dealer from Cheshire. I then spoke to the new owner and put all my findings and facts to the police and receivers.
As it was SOR I authorised it's sale so my claim is with Camper NE.
At auction a lot of the interior was missing so I guess it's been used for spares before the auction.
Thanks for your pointers Kenny.

When you think it can't get any worse and then I read this bit above; shocking!!

The Camper NE owners were a proper bunch of feckwits.

No, he's just Teesside. North Tyneside would be a bit of a trek for him :-)

A right bummer, some years ago a friend had a VW on order from a South East Motorhome dealer they were boading & linning the inside for him to fit the cabinet work himself so at least it wasn't the full price of the van he lost. When it was ready he posted them a cheque on Monday for £20k, to pick it up on Friday, they cashed the cheque and went bump on Thursday. To add insult to injury the liquidators offered him the van for £10k. He didn't have much option loose 10k and have the van or loose 20k & no van.

So are these crooked, thieving toe rags who owned camperNE involved in another business now then?
Its a disgrace, the blatant theft of peoples motorhomes.
They do have two other registered companies which may come back to life but after this I don't think so. They have fleeced many HP companies and banks so funding could be an issue. Maybe they'll fund themselves out of all the money they've stolen.

An interesting idea but I suspect there may be a Council By Law against it somewhere.
