If you think people power is going to help you might need to think again. There are fewer than 250,000 motorhomes in the UK but 3,700,000 people who suffer from respiratory conditions. I love motorhoming but we need to get real, our leisure activity is not that popular with the wider public. People power might well come down against us. Sometimes it better to keep your head down.
Negative thinking is not the best I need to hear positive thinking or don’t reply.

It'd be healthier if we left the van at the park and ride. Or cycled in from the campsite that's 5 miles out of town.
Exactly my point and the majority do. However we need to avoid the creeping number of LEZs enforcing additional charges on pre Euro6 motor homes. eg A mile inside the M25 £300, not urban not necessary.

Yes they did but this is different we are talking about motorhomes only
What we need is people power it can be done
But I have to be honest we have LEZ all around us and have decided to move away
We are Still happy to sign a petition

It was for Motorhomes only. It was many years ago. I live 200 metres inside the zone. There were no cameras to record us until the ULEZ was extended.

nicholsong was a campaigner. Many people just said wouldn't catch me in London. We told them that these Zones would spread and they did

No I won’t take it personally there is room for divergent views. However I am not going to be silenced just because I am not saying what you want to hear. If you only listen to one side of an argument you are unlikely to succeed.

I think you are looking at the problem the wrong way up. The fact is that we are a misunderstood Minority Leisure Activity group with a wealth of proven heath and mental health benefits. This must work in our favour!
I agree that there are health benefits and that we are often misunderstood. However I can think of other issues such as making proper parking provision for motorhomes that I would prioritise.

My partner & I are newbies and have a fully adapted motorhome for myself with my electric wheelchair
Anything built after 2014/Euro 6 is currently exempt
Ours is a 2015 and I’m pretty sure we are a Cat 4 so I doubt ours is exempt 🤔

And when there are no positives? As there are none on this subject?

The idea of parking in the club site and Crystal Palace and cycling in, is a great idea as long as you are the love child of Brad Wiggins and a traffic cop, not disabled, and not wanting to do anything that can't be done is full mamil gear. And anyone who knows where the club site is will also know that it sits at the top of a massive, long steep hill.

Best thing is to head south to the channel and cross it. Let Khan, Oxford Council, Bristol Council and all the other motorhome haters wallow in their stinking cities. They are welcome to them.

Put your plate in here and find out

In the discussions it was found that some manufactures were using up the stockpile of older Euro 5 engines well into 2015 and even some in 2016
(Euro 4 engines however 'should' have all been phased out before 2011)

There is much discussion on here about the need to have a Euro6 emissions motorhome.. The focus being that the increasing number of LEZ will render the use of your motorhome going forward much reduced. The popular view is this restriction will increasingly apply both in the UK and in the EU. I’m pretty sure the pre Euro6 vehicles on here at least equal the post Euro6 so it’s a substantial number.

What if there was another approach? Why can’t we campaign to get all motorhomes exempt from any current or future LEZ?

So I’m thinking motorhomes are typically:

A long term investment.
Overall a specialist vehicle which ultimately represents a low number % of UK vehicles. (? Less than vehicles exempt by age?)
Low annual mileage
Overall low emissions foot print: solar, lpg etc
Encourage an active lifestyle: walking, cycling etc
Increases tourist spending in many areas.

I’m sure there are many other reasons I’ve missed.

Is there an opportunity for MHF to start, post the General Election, a campaign via our new local MPs or a petition via the government website to get some traction?

Views?
Certainly worth a try. There are exemptions already and you spell out a good argument for why motorhomes could be added to the exemption list. Lots of detail to think about though.

Or park at the Abbey Wood site.
It's flat, on a cycle path into central London.

It's also walking distance to the end of the Elizabeth line.
You can be in City in 20 mins, West End in 30 mins and far west London in 45 mins.

It means that even if you had to go to Heathrow the easiest campsite is Abbey Wood !
It does not look logical on the map, but compare the journey times and number of changes.
