Camc Queue

Well I just sent them a shitty email! :mad: Not that it’ll do any good! Complete bunch of incompetent clowns! I queued for 20 minutes to find out you can’t check bookings you think you’ve already made! Round and round in frigging circles!:mad:
A company like this should NEVER have problems like this! Sheer stupidity. This is definitely my last year with these idiots! :mad::mad::mad:

Have you installed the new app?
I have now…..but why do you have to be in the ‘booking queue’ to see your current bookings, I wonder……?:unsure:

Well the app seems 'better' this morning, it said I was 104,000 in the queue but waiting time less than a minute, yesterday it would let me log in and see my details but if I tried to check my bookings it would tell me I was not a member 🤦‍♂️
It shows my 2 bookings but says my next one to pay is next year...maybe I get the one this november for free 🤔 🤣🤣
 
Yeh! We're in just to check current bookings! :party:

We've got 13 bookings and on the old system it was a simple list showing site \ dates \ etc.

Now, you've got to go in to each booking to find out what site you've booked! What a shambles!
 
I wonder how much it's cost and whether Granville got a new laptop out of it ? :unsure: :whistle:

It says 12 so I have taken a screenshot as I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be 1pm. I am only 18 miles away so earlier is better for me.

There may be tears before bedtime and they won’t be mine 😂

Last week I was told by a CMC Warden that the central command of the CMC has decreed that all check-in times across the site network are to be 1pm.

Which is very inconvenient for some members, if like us you had booked lunch at a local pub for 12:45 pm expecting to get on a pitch soon after 12 noon arrival.
 
The email says that I chose check in 12-2pm so I have it confirmed in two places.

Not your booking email, but the email you received before you go, it will tell you the check in time, so no need to log into the app or website

I haven’t had that email! Just the one when I made the booking last week.

just went on site to check availability at different sites for next year and got this ,check the dates what happened to the 12 months in advance???

p.s can't understand why most of the sites show full when you do the map and put dates in for next year as I have already made a booking for middle of July, camc please start again

I can book 12 months in advance, made my booking for chatsworth Sept 2023
hi Bobby, I know have already booked one for next July but went on the map too see if I could see the availability calendar and when you click on a site it says not available for the dates I have put in tried different sites all the same shows no pitches available.
 
Well, after several seconds of angst I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and spent a glorious hour on Par Beach in the sunshine with the dog and arrived at Carnon Downs site just after 1pm.

Guess what? It us one of the few sites which still has a 12 oclock check- in. 😂

Langtoftlad - I think it was affiliated up until this year and now it is fully CAMC.
 
We had Rowntree Park booked for five days followed by 4 and 5 days with the C&CC at Keswick and Windermere from this weekend. Sadly we now have a funeral to attend in Colchester right in the middle so cancelled York online and tried phoning the latter two to see if I could rejig the dates. Took four days before I managed to get through to either of them (whilst on holiday in the Faroes). Tried HQ in the meantime, 15 in line and an average wait of 14 minutes. I eventually cancelled both when the sites answered. I've seen the recent comments about "the Friendly Club" Now I know.

As it happens, it's actually the Camping & Caravanning Club that uses the tag line 'the friendly club'.

But I tried to use the C&MC website last night - it was rubbish, sad to say.

Carnon Downs was an excellent independent site that was bought by C&MC a year or two ago.

Rumour tells they've started to removed some of the facilities that, as an independent, they provided, eg the football pitch.

Rumour also says the big field at the far end of the site that is currently used as a dog exercise field is going to be developed into a camping area.

Thank you for the commiserations but on the problems with the bookings I had no trouble cancelling York with the C&MC online (before the latest website launch), I was referring to the long wait on the phone for C&CC when I made the comments on them being The Friendly Club after reading recent threads on them. (y)

My neighbour drove from Cumbria to the camc site at Looe last month. They arrived at 8 minutes to 1 and were told to go down the road and wait in a layby till 1pm. He got the last space in the layby behind some other outfits. A few minutes later, a Disco with twin axle caravan slowed down, but couldn't fit in, so carried on past. My neighbour spoke to the guy a couple of hours later, he'd had to drive through he narrow streets of Looe itself and far beyond before he could find a suitable turning spot !

That’s petty! I was there last week and there is a huge area in front of the reception.

Yup, they were doing this in Knaresborough a couple of weeks ago, many empty pitches on the site, a large arrivals area, but no, the warden was stood in the road blocking the way in for arrivals before 13.00 and making them drive round and round the lanes until the appointed hour. Not fun if you have a large wobble box. Pointless rules, the club is becoming too much aggro to be a member of
 
Just tried to book Birmingham Chapel Lane for next week. The delay accessing the website only took a few seconds. Booking failed at the payment point - twice. Also the price was different for the 2 bookings even though they were identical. Not wasting my time with the system not working - will stay somewhere else.
 
I can see the CAMC losing a lot of already unhappy members after this massive fiasco. Me being one of them.
It’s ok though, the management will still pay themselves a small fortune and have a nice big piss up at the end of the year at our expense. Again.
