Camc Queue

Sad to say if anyone can't see the issue with booking multiple sites on the off chance you might be free to go or the weather might be ok (sometimes for the same dates CMC) then try booking your choice site near the 72 hour deadline.

Absolutely amazing how availability is suddenly there.
 
Just tried to book Birmingham Chapel Lane for next week. The delay accessing the website only took a few seconds. Booking failed at the payment point - twice. Also the price was different for the 2 bookings even though they were identical. Not wasting my time with the system not working - will stay somewhere else.
C&CC Clent Hills isn’t far from Birmingham.

It would seem that the software that the CAMC receptions use has had a tweak too.

Yip, wardens up the north of Scotland are toiling with the changeover as well!:rolleyes:
 
I've had all the same problems. Eventually got through on the phone and finalised a booking- took 1 hour to get through then another half hour to book.
Bookings aren't showing on my app , though showing as not paid, but they told me they were showing on the website .
There are various other glitches too numerous to mention..

Managed to download the new app on my iPhone,but it's not showing me as having paid for todays booking.. but it won't yet download on my iPad, it apparently still needs tweaking

Yes, downloaded new app, logged in, bookings all there etc, hopefully they are working through all the go-live issues and problems.
 
The map feature allows you to search for availability, not sure if there's a distance limit, edit..I don't think there is

Why have they not rolled back to the old system, whilst they do some proper testing and get the new system working before going live?
Maybe they cannot load bookings made on the new system on the old system, so would end up with bookings on two different systems and then not know if they are double booking, i.e get in a right mess. Whatever the reason, it is badly managed and being able to roll back to a previous version should be a basic requirement of any IT launch
 
This is a thread back in 2021 where we had a chance to ask questions to a funster who was ( apparently) a camc warden .

It seems the question I asked might have been true 😂

Yay! The new app does seem to be working and my upcoming bookings are showing as they should but I wonder why I don’t have to pay for next week’s trip for a little while yet 😂

It looks like it is up and running now. It's rubbish though, you have to input a site or location to find anything. What happened to late booking or search by availability?
 
Just had an email saying that, as a mark of respect, site receptions will close during the funeral.

Unfortunately it doesn’t give timings. Is it just the church service ie 11am till 12 or the whole procession which follows, I wonder?

I started my holiday before The Queen passed away otherwise I would have planned around that day more carefully.

It’s all very simple to book . It only takes 6 minutes to explain the “ quick and easy “ process 😂
 
I was informed by CAMC wardens yesterday that the new software is a botched version of a ferry booking programme. 'Departure' being the start of your holiday/journey - I.e. arrival at the site: 'arrival' being the end of the holiday/journey - I.e. departure from the site.

Confused?
They were. Inadequate training on an inadequate app., they said.

Oh well - glad our money is being spent wisely.
 
So, six minutes to do something that used to take a couple of minutes. No wonder the queue is longer than the one for Westminster Hall.
