We have the same surrounds on our i681. The lawyer came off. Had them stripped and resprayed now as good as new.

Yes - the issue is the paint is peeling off - makes them look proper shabby - I had wondered whether to get them painted or whether it would be easier to find a pair of good ones - if you don't mind saying - where did you have them painted (was it an acceptable job ?) & what did it cost ?
Thanks for the reply !
(any idea how they were stripped ? - I could probably repaint myself - but stripping them looks to be an issue)

I had them done in Morocco with the front light surrounds, front valance and one side valance. Total cost £150, obviously not comparable to UK prices!! However the guy just took the rear surrounds off, detached the electrics and off he went. To be honest once they are off I suspect a local paint shop would do them for a reasonable cost. Ours came up a treat and it’s really improved the overall look.

Many Thanks - I have the rear ones off - so will have to see what price I get quoted locally - the front does also need doing - when I can fathom how to get the parts off....

Hi & sorry to mither - I have managed to get the front bumper & both side valances off - but as I couldn't separate the side valances from the bumper - It is all off - on the ground in one connected assembly - I notice in a photo you posted earlier that these parts are separate when you had them painted - I wonder if you can remember - or know if the side valances are bonded or glued in to the front bumper ?
I will post a screenshot of the area I'm looking at...
Many Thanks - it's appreciated !

Hi, good work by the sound of it. They were separated by the use of a long flat bladed knife(?). In my case the drivers side valance was left on the vehicle, as it didn’t need to be resprayed, but was separated from the front and near side valance which were taken off in one piece. Bearing in mind this is in Morocco I’m pretty sure when refitted the front and drivers side valance were screwed together. It’s dark now but I’ll have a look underneath tomorrow to confirm how it was re-attached and I’ll let you know.

Hi - Many Thanks for that - the sides do have screws in each of the 3 sections - but even with those removed - still will not separate - I did think about a flat blade between the 2 sections - it's just finding something suitable to drive into the joint - although it should be a bit easier now it's all off the vehicle...
Unfortunately found a lot of rotten plywood along bottom edges of gas locker & passenger door - all had been plastered liberally with a gallon of underseal type coating to hide everything - looks like I have a bit more work...(off to find out best plywood to use for repair...)
