A few years now
Heard good things about BunkFest as a good free family festival (a bit like Upton?) with camping at the market town of Wallingford in Oxfordshire so wondered if any Funsters might be interested in it as a Fun meet? From last years prices the camping looks like it will be around £30 per person so £60 for the weekend for a couple but if we can get enough Funsters interested then the organisers have offered that we could all be pitched together in a prime spot near to the facilities & arrive a bit earlier in the morning on Thursday 31 August & leave later on Monday 4th September (y) At the Wallingford Sports Park there will toilets & showers provided & free shuttle buses to the festival but dogs are not allowed unless they are guide dogs. Alternatively it's a 10-15 minute walk to all the action :)
Here is a link to the website for last years BunkFest Link Removed to give an idea of what it might be like.

Update 28/4/17: This years price is £35 per person plus booking fee - link to book is https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bunkfest-2017-tickets-16833558627 & if you book into Site B you can arrive a bit earlier from 10am on Thursday. If Site B is fully booked then try Site C & rendezvous with your fellow Funsters on the field or in the bar

Thank you for the interest so far (y) Forgot to say - please put how many pitches you might want & how many people (as it is priced per person) so we can work out if we might have enough interested to get the best spot reserved for us :)

Thank you for your interest - as this is a meet bookings will be directly to BunkFest (probably in a few weeks time) but we need enough interest registered & early bookings for the organisers to reserve our own Fun area in the best camping area (20 pitches) & to be able arrive earlier & leave later than the other campers :) Sadly dogs (other than guide dogs) aren't allowed as Haganap mentioned presumably as we will be camping on the sports ground pitches. Please let us know if you still want to be put on the list as interested?

Bit more info. - toilets & showers will be proper ones in the main building which were refurbished last year. The Sports Park will be doing bacon butties on Saturday & Sunday mornings (y) & hot food will be available in the evenings. The bars there will also be open including on the Thursday night :drinks:. Obviously there will be all the attractions of BunkFest & Wallingford a quick free bus ride or short walk away but handy to know what's on our doorstep too :)

This is the BunkFest Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/wallingfordbunkfest/ - worth a Like to see all the updates for 2017 as they are released (y) Also photos from last year give an idea of what it might be like this year :)

The Sports Park Meet is definitely no dogs because the camping is on the football & rugby pitches. There is a lovely dog friendly campsite at £25 per night http://bridgevilla.co.uk/campsite/prices-booking/ within walking distance of BunkFest but checked with them it is fully booked with a waiting list :( Will have a look to see if there are any other camping options where dogs are allowed - if anyone does find any please post here.

@Wombles, please add Mexican Pete and wife Linda.

Any idea when the line up of the artists is going to be released?

Thanks, Peter

Checking back through the posts would seem no dogs allowed in the camping area. I as they are rugby/football pitches. Quite accept that so have to withdraw from the meet. Quite happy not to take a dog music fest itself.
Thanks for the pms that clarified.
Have a good meet
cheers
Jim and Lyn

Sorry we may not get to see you this time @Jimbohorlicks & any other Funster dog owners that may be interested in the BunkFest Meet but if we do find a dog-friendly campsite with availability we will post details.

For anyone who wants to enjoy BunkFest but can't join our Meet because of the no dogs rule there is a Caravan Club CL a mile away which has 5 pitches available at the moment :) PM us if you want more details.
