I've heard a rumour suggesting that we are going to be limited to 24 bottles of wine being brought back into the UK from the EU?

Is this speculation or has it been set in stone?

This is non-eu. whether it will revert to what it was before I've no idea?

Alcohol allowance

How much you can bring depends on the type of drink. You can bring in:

  • beer - 16 litres
  • wine (not sparkling) - 4 litres

You can also bring in either:

  • spirits and other liquors over 22% alcohol - 1 litre
  • fortified wine (for example port, sherry), sparkling wine and alcoholic drinks up to 22% alcohol - 2 litres

More than enough for most of us, 48 bottles of wine between two of us will keep us going between trips.

I hope they don't dip many of our water tanks next year when we are coming back. I will say it is just pink for the toilet as I am paranoid about running out! 👍

Moan moan, what about my Whisky ?

There are numerous excellent single malt whiskys presently available at my local Super U cheaper than you pay for the same in England and even Scotland.

It is not just you marauding MH'ers going back to cold damp Blighty who will be suffering.

:drink::drink::drink::drink::drink:

p.s. posting not to be taken seriously, well not too seriously

This brexit malarky is defo in the public's interest isnt it?.......not

I wonder when the regs will be made official?
Roll on the 31st of December.
And then we will at least know where we are.
The uncertainty has been as bad as the leaving.

I think it's going to be a couple of months before we start to see how things are working out there are bound to be a few problems whatever happens.

I am praying it’s a bad dream, actually a nightmare, and I will wake up soon. My daughter and husband and 5 very young children, put all their possessions and furniture and land rover discovery on a container ship last week, as they are moving back from Cyprus, they have now been warned it will all be stuck in a docks somewhere for months awaiting customs clearance.

The local dairy i signwrite for has tankers coming from Poland every week. They travel across empty so I have a plan.
you know what happens to the best laid plans:rofl:😱

I feel for you. I feel trapped in that nightmare, too. Just when you think things couldn't get any worse, they do. I hope it all works out well for your daughter and her family. (y)

Thanks for reminding me that the allowance is (24 bottles of wine) per person.
Just wondering what the allowance is for those with a dog...
