Breakdown cover for 3.5t plus mhs

Our Eurobreakdown cover cost us £81 for the UK & EU, we're 3850kg:

Just done a quote but this comes up

*The vehicle needs to be registered in the UK, it cannot be higher than 3m, wider than 2.3m and the maximum weight cannot exceed 3.5tons.

Looks like they've changed it since I bought it which is a shame.

Nationwide Flex Account EU breakdown cover DOES NOT now include repatriation of your vehicle. Bit of a bummer really as we only opened the account for the EU breakdown cover, now trying to find alternative cover for our 5t, 9m motorhome.

We are with driver guardian. Covers over 3.5t and includes repatriation. In most of Europe.

Were you ever covered with them though as there is a maximum length of 8m for Motorhomes in the T&Cs?

I think the jury is still out but only regarding vehicle repatriation under the terms of the EU Breakdown T&Cs in the event of the driver becoming incapacitated - otherwise for a breakdown scenario that cannot be repaired it is covered in the same way as ‘onward travel’ in the U.K. Several of us have written to NW requesting clarification of the policy and exclusions wording around the former issue.

That is a weird one which brings in the "is it a camper van or a motorhome debate" because strangely RAC have no size or weight restrictions UNLESS it is classed as a camper van which are limited to 3.5t.
Interestingly, I've just been negotiating my renewal with RAC / Arrival (C&CC).

And I was somewhat puzzled by the distinction between motorhome & campervan. We have a 6.4m Rapido van conversion (pvc). So is it a campervan or a motorhome? According to the DVLA V5C registration document, it is classed as 'Motor Caravan'. To us it's just the camper, but what about RAC?

Anyway, I renewed after haggling a few quid off the standard renewal quote, and paid £210 for me and Mrs mikebeaches driving any vehicle (we also have 2 cars), including the camper and also including full continental cover (I think for up to 350 days pa, which is a bit academic now with Brexit - need to read the small print on that and see if it's been reduced?).

Anyway, RAC / Arrival is for any weight and any length motorhome. (y)

Edited to add: Doh, just noticed this is a 4-month old thread...!
