I know you've still playing with this @Jim but I find the text a little bit too light (thin?) and the background a bit too bright, if I change the brightness on my laptop I then find reading the text a bit of a strain.

You can ignore people, threads and whole forums. Knowing how busy you are @JJ when you ignore a thread I've given you the option to ignore the thread starter too, big time saver for you yy

I don’t know if this has been covered, apologies if it has...

I’m not getting any icons. For instance, along the top of the area i’m In at the moment whilst typing this... all I can see above my typed text are feint boxes where italics, bold indent, etc, etc would normally be. Also ‘attach files, post reply, preview’ boxes below my message are the same. I’m using an iPad by the way.

Is this something which is being worked on?

Probably intentional for you so you don't have to learn too much too soon, whilst those of us who are more, errrrr ... IQ 'efficient' have them already.

Having now played with it for a bit, I think it's good & an improvement on a phone but still don't like it on the PC.

Although my avatar looks okay "in the round" others seem to be cut off. I think I'd go back to the square ones.

Background is fine for me and makes it easier to read on a mobile. If the background is too bright user can just turn down the brightness.

Re. Android on Samsung Galaxy tablet a major improvement in that the search box no longer sits over the top of the alerts and inbox masking them. Will probably need to resize our avatar, the bull is missing a few bits

I find the opposite. I gave up trying to use my Samsung phone. It's OK on my laptop. But I browse more on the phone, so won't be on as much .

When I click on "Forums" on the blue bar I get a list of members on line - which I shouldn't do. I think that is the only time it occurs so is there a bug in the software @Jim ?

Dave - who prefers square avatars.

I can't change my avatar photo to better suit the revised shape

When I say can't, the new software wont let me
