Auto Trail Delivery Times

To be fair Swift's don't leak and don't have soft floors anymore....... They just have fitting that fall off and cupboard doors that don't like to be used. But they don't leak
Errrrr- oh yes they do- from FIRST HAND experience

If all goes wrong for the OPs May-19 delivery slot then I reckon Autotrail will be sure to get it built by NLT the first week of August. The AT annual accounts close on the 31st Aug and they'll need as much cash as possible to prop-up the last FY.

Mike, I have weighed everything we have in the MoHo and really have everything we need and more. I travel with a full tank of fresh water so I have that spare if required. (y)
Just a question regarding the upgrade you mention..IS it 3650 or 3850?
The latest version is currently 3650 kgs . The pay load is ...186 KGS!!!
https://www.auto-trail.co.uk/range/apache/634/weight-calculator

Double check the figures you mention..Initially they went from 3500 to 3650 kgs FOC. Anything above that is at cost and includes Air ride.

Just a thought??

Kev

Just spoke to Autotrail Newark for you free gratis...All apache 634u and Autotrail 632 comes on a 3500 KGS and the pay load is 189KGS The uprate to 3650 only still gives 189kgs as a payload. Water is 1 kg to 1 liter Do the maths.
To increase the payload to 3850 it has to be Air ride at a cost .

Correct, 3650Kg is free of charge, upgrade to 3850Kg this is with Semi-Air thats an increase of 396kg on a basic 3500kg excluding 75kg for a passenger,94kg for 1 passengers allowance, 11kg gas and 54 litres of fuel.

The payload is 46kg on the 3500 and 196kg on the 3650kg excluding all of the above allowances, due the maths

Im guessing here but you are obviously on a mission to p folk off trying to help? Hope the truck turns up for you on time and without issues. Im sure we will all hear about it at some point ...

I am not trying to P people off so you guessed wrong again but I cannot for the life of me see how you are trying to help when all you have done is run Auto Trial down by butting into a thread that was intended to gain information for me on previous owners recent delivery times.
What are you hoping to gain,do you want me to cancel the order?

I am not interested in your depreciation theories, your tales of woe or indeed your predictions of what I will do in the future,if you hate the Auto Trial product why do you own one?
As I said there are a lot of AT owners with issues but there area lot more that are more than happy .

Keep spreading the word Kev and there will me more than 10% being laid off.

When they say that they have let staff go I wonder how many of those were agency or zero hours workers. An awful lot of firms use them now instead of 100% own workers.
usually find it the skilled staff that go first nowdays

They usually have a weighing campaign on the M5 heading for the West Country in the summer holidays.

I’m interested as to where that info came from.?
I remembered reading it somewhere a while ago and I found it earlier on Motorhome Planet.co.uk so I copied and pasted it but I just noticed that it wasnt so recent!! but its the thought that counts eh?

As regards Theories or tales of woe...you will never even get close . As I have said...you take it as you wish chap..Enjoy your motorhome and the life it will bring you ...Should you prefer individual responses...that suit your needs and attitude (Or lack of)...State it when you ask a question. That way you get the bits you seem to need and not the stuff we all have had to worry about. Hey...Its a learning curve we all are on. Sharing and Caring?? I dont think do you?
As regards Why should I want you to cancel the order?Seriously?? I want to wait and see the out come should you bother to stay on the forum and tell us all that you have actually got the Holy Grail of Auto Trails you seem to think that you are getting? I wont hold my breath though...As i said...Enjoy the journey...
And finally....the 10% you mention? ...Educate yourself and read the papers regarding Autotrail and the problems it has currently.

Oh last thing...The additional posts relating to weights etc from other members...Im looking at it that they are not butting in then?

Hey oh...upload_2019-4-8_19-29-27.jpeg Still hurt! lol

A recent campaign of roadside checks by VOSA found that 80% of the motorhomes they stopped were overweight.

I am sure our motorhome is probably overweight on the rear axle when we go to Spain for holidays. (y)

Ah, just hear-say then.
There was a whiff of rodent when I saw “recent” and “VOSA” together, the latter not having existed for over 5 years

Can I ask a question Mike without fear of being banned?

When you travel abroad...is it best to have it weighed first ? Just trying to sort our first journey out abroad and just seeking advice

We had the van weighed when we first bought it and since that just try to weigh/guess what we are adding.

But I am sure I go over - it's easy to use the 1/2 ton payload of our van without really trying.

I am in the process of up-rating as I think we are easy targets nowadays.

Every government has learn't the UK way of earning easy money. (n)

Thanks for that Mike. We are just sorting a few things out for a short trip to Austria for a fortnight. It was that we heard too that they are stopping folk and weighing them. Will have it looked at before we go just in case..Thanks again

Kev

Kev, we are never going to see eye to eye on this matter so its pointless gong on and although I may understand that you have had issues with AT but to be told that "you will choose a totally different make the next time around" etc etc and all the other doom and gloom comments doesn't bode well with me as I got the message the first time.
I am looking forward to receiving the MH that I have chosen and I have told you several times that I am willing to put up with the consequences if it doesn't pan out as I had hoped that it would but it sems to have fallen on deaf ears.
It is although you want to broadcast your opinion at any cost,no offence but I just dont get it.
