Hi there. Fuel prices.
I went to fill up my car yesterday and paid £1.46 a litre. (diesel)
Today, I had to fill up the boss’s car, and went to the same filling station. I noticed the price for diesel has gone up to £1.56 a litre. I asked if they had had a delivery and was told no.
So Mr Sainsbury bought the diesel at one price and because the price of crude oil has gone up, he is now selling the same fuel at a higher price. (Other fuel sellers also exist)
This is why the oil companies are making so much money out of us mug motorists. They push up the price and we all pay it.

Thoughts?

A US Gallon is 3.785 litres. Which @£1.77 is £6.77 current dollar to pound conversion makes that $8.78 so $5.99 per is Gallon gives a difference of $2.22

Maybe I am wrong but possibly there is not such a big difference and a comparable price if someone’s wages was dollars rather than pounds.

Same agin for the euro pump price it looks higher than ours until you do a € to £ conversion and it’s much the same.
Thats still a pretty big difference. I suspect fuel in relation to wages is still a fair bit cheaper in the States

Just got off the phone with a friend who's over in France atm (another Funster).

He said he paid 2.20 Euros today.

Good I thought. While I'm stuck here in the cold working my nuts off
Paid 2.29 e at the supermarket on in bourg st Maurice a couple of days ago. Had to queue. 90 e for half a tank! Should have waited, it's down to just 2.19 now....

That’s still high at around £1.90 nd even £1.80 hopefully prices will soon go back down.

Ok but isn't there a lag between what is brought at X price refined sold used then the price drops as the pricing comes through. The Cynic in me thinks that the Government doesn't mid as they just get more revenue from the higher pricing...
the only lag I ever see is the price not dropping when the barrel price drops? Barrel price dropped 4 days ago.. forecourt prices are still going up?
When Russia invaded the barrel price increased 40%, its now only 17%.. prices on forecourts still going up though.. thieves.

In Florida at moment and as usual the Yanks are moaning at paying $5.99 for a gallon diesel and $4.39 for petrol spoke to someone the other day and said you can moan when it gets to $10 per gallon he said he would sell the car , but you should see the amount of rv's on the road from compacts to coach size , let's hope it comes down a bit before we go Spain at end of April🙏🙏

But the French are, and they haven't.
Also from what I have read are the Germans, Spanish, French, Italians................paying through the nose.
Yes as bobandjanie says we have a national strike from monday indefinitely.

It's not just price, it's security of supply as well.
Went to Tesco today (Saturday) and they’d sold out of diesel. Hope this isn’t a taste of things to come. 😱
