Yes genuine Mirrorguard had massive offside hit with speeding Discovery slammed the mirror and arm back against the window.Hi I know this is after the horse has bolted. Do mirror guards work? Has anyone here had their mirror hit whilst the mirror guard was on and the did it save any cage to original wing mirror.
Thanks in advance.

Yes the Milenco ones on our Sunlight withstood a closing speed impact of 60mph on a narrow bridge at Age's Morte in France, with another Sunlight van of all thing's. As most others have found, the mirror popped out of it's click fitting, but no damage to anything else and was easily clicked back in. The arm was swung back against the passengers window by the impact. Whether the other van sustained any damage is unknown. I do carry a full replacement set of mirror glass as they are so light. The Milenco mirror protectors saved my passenger mirror in France.
I was doing 50mph and the passenger mirror hit the door mirror of a 4x4 doing a similar speed in the opposite direction. Despite a combined impact of 100mph, the only damage I had was a broken indicator bulb filament, a small crack in the protector (which I fixed) and a cracked indicator lens which was not covered by the protector. I got an E-marked replacement indicator lens off eBay quite cheaply.
The unprotected mirror on the 4x4 was wrecked.
