Annie and I had a fabulous walk into Ventnor today.
16,200 steps which equates to 8 miles!
Found a lovely little cafe on the seafront where we enjoyed a cream tea.It was run by service veterans, really quirky and only £6.25 for a huge scone, cream, jam, strawberries and a pot of tea. They've been there for 10 years and I've never been in there!!
Highly recommend.

We rode into shanklin on the red squirrel route, lovely scenery, lunch special of tempura prawns and pork and fennel burger in a snack shack next to the sea. The IoW is a gem

Hello Funsters
I'm planning on having a BBQ on Thursday from 5 pm onwards.
Cherry has said we can use their BBQ but I'm not sure as to the size of it.
Not everyone will have their own BBQ's,we have one and can accommodate space for others to cook on too.
Question is will it be more convenient to cook within your own pitch and then bring your food up to the gazebo?
Any suggestions gratefully recieved please
Kim xx

I think cook your own and bring along, then everyone gets what they want about the same time. Around 6.30, 7 pm ?

It's stunning isn't it?
Walk down to the beach too, through the woods it's really pretty.
You're see Queen Victoria's bathing coach that was pulled down to the beach for her.
We've been to alot of open air shows there over the years including classical proms and Tom Jones.
I even took my nan aged 82 to see Westlife!!!!
Enjoy your day xx

We loved Osbourne House when we visited years ago.

It was the first time I’d seen a Royal Family Tree and I was amazed at how closely related Queen Elizabeth II was to Philip the Duke of Edinburgh!

Sounds like you’re all having a lovely time! :sun:

The lovely Vivien the hospitality manager from Red Funell is popping over at 7.30 tonight as she lives here in Wroxall.
She was very helpful to me along with a few of you so I thought she may like to join us in the bar tonight to say thanks 🙏👍

I expect your all aware that you have to vacate the site by 11.00 am tomorrow.
If however you are booked on a later ferry crossing Cherry said you can park up in the car park or park up at the Donkey sanctuary just up the road as they have a large car park.
Alternatively you can check with Cherry to see if anyone is arriving on your pitch and if not your welcome to stay on your pitch until it's time to leave.
Thanks for coming everyone and I do really hope you have enjoyed yourselves as much as we have.xx

Once again a huge thank you to you all for supporting my first IOW rally.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I'm definitely going to be repeating it next year so look out for Red Funnel special deals in November and I will post it on here.
Safe travels home and enjoy the rest of your adventures whether in this country or on the continent.
Here are some pics Cherry kindly took which she put on her Appuldurcombe Facebook page.
Lots of love 😘
Kim & Ivan xx
