Anyone use Dipetane?

I use Redex regular treatment. Petrol and Diesel.

I tried it because I saw it tested on a TV program over some miles.

We always had nearly new and one brand new motorhome with no exhaust issues. However, when we got our then, 14 year old motorhome 4 years or so ago. It was quite smokey. It had a good run to the UK from where we purchased it, Granada Spain. But, still smoked. Oil changes did nothing.

So I started adding Redex Regular Diesel Treatment. Within 3 tanks, it was almost clear of smoking.

I also had an issue with an Audi A3 DPF light. Redex DPF cleaner sorted that too.

Do you still use it every fill up or just occasionally now?

I use Dipotane, I have failed emissions tests in the past and added it after for a tank and the cars sailed through on retest, also more power. I don't know about using it in modern engines but I use it on everything older than 10yrs, Only use it now before the test or if i have a dodgy injector, its a good cleaner

Read all sorts about the stuff but wonder if anyone here has used / uses it.
Good, bad, indifferent?
Yes I use it worth a petrol car and it’s very good. It does something to improve fuel combustion and I definitely get more mileage from it. The other big thing is the quietness and smoothness from the engine. I’m quite sceptical with a lot of so called automotive “innovations” but I do like Dipetane. I call it cough mixture for an engine. The other problem I have is a slightly rough idle which I have worked hard to fix. Only Dipetane worked on that score.

Not long ago, on our previous Euro 5 Ducato, I tried using an injector cleaner before a long trip around France, Spain & Portugal because it said to use one bottle to every 6 full tanks of fuel. Half way round I got a dashboard warning about the catalytic converter or something similar that I had never seen before or since. Turned off and started again and it had disappeared. I don't believe in coincidences and, like BouncyBoatFolk, I am quite cynical and have a deep suspicion of such claims. Not for me either.

On here it’s either for rheumatism or erectile issues :giggle:
 Odd innit, that the same stuff can cure as well as promote stiffness.
I imagine that with the wrong dosage you could find yourself in the unfortunate position of having even stiffer joints and needing nothing for the weekend, Sir.

I regularly get the "engine" icon lighting up on my diesel V40 to say the egr valve is probably a bit clogged. I dosed for 3 full tanks with Dipetane, and it did nothing, sometimes takes a couple of bottles of STP to get the light off.
