It's looking like some people have had enough of them
Many of us have ebikes, myself included. Provided that an escooter is used and subjected to the same restrictions I can't see why there should be any difference.
It's all about common sense and consideration for others. That includes the riders and pedestrians.
Find a Facebook group from one of the towns where the legal escooter trial is on and you'll get a sense of how they're being used , mostly at 15mph on the path or wobbling about in the road , dumped in riversMany of us have ebikes, myself included. There's no way an Escooter is as stable as a bike or will be ridden like a bike , if they do legalise them you can expect plenty of deaths , they can already be de restricted to do well over 30mph , there's a video of someone setting a speed camera off while riding one
A lot of the problems are down to the hire scooters, if people owned them they would take more responsibility over where they are left, because it is so easy for anyone to jump on a hire scooter, people with no experience are jumping on them as a bit of fun.Find a Facebook group from one of the towns where the legal escooter trial is on and you'll get a sense of how they're being used , mostly at 15mph on the path or wobbling about in the road , dumped in rivers

Not much use either , if you want to take them out and not get caught you need a sniper rifleA Kalashnikov is compact and has its uses but it is not currently legally allowed in the UK.!
