Anyone use an e scooter for getting around the campsites ?

DPP v Vivier 1991 is probably a relevant case.

Correct. On appeal by the prosecution the charge of drink driving in a public place, namely a caravan park, was sent back to the magistrates with a direction to convict.

We should have cycle lanes everywhere..And mobility scooters and
E Scooters should only be allowed in these .not on pavements or roads..
They are a good idea and green.
Plus a lot safe than riding a motorcycle
Just get rid a pedestrians problem solved :ROFLMAO:

Hopefully…….? ;)

It's of course down to common sense, at Chester last weekend they are available for hire, yet across the border In Wales they are illegal.

These are good. Waterproof too so if you get caught out in the rain you're still okay.

I know they are illegal but it gives some people a reason to moan so everyone's a winner.
It's your risk though , if you get stopped riding one illegally it's points on your licence, not just a telling off.

E scooters are now the transport of choice of the local hooded youth and drug dealers. Admittedly I do frequent some not very nice places, I'd like to see e scooters banned.

Interesting, so why is an ebike not treated the same....
Or
Is that being used as a deterrent until it is decided to make them legal or not..
E-bikes are assisted, I.e. You need to initiate the movement by peddling and the motor Assists you.

E-scoots are self propelled.

Not sure where the infamous Sinclair C5 sat in this but they were legal IIRC.

I think e scooters would be great for reducing pollution you can easily carry them on public transport and use them to reach your journeys start or end. I know you can do the same with a foldable ebike but image if the majority started to carry them in the rush hour they're also quite bulky and heavy. I say build infrastructure to accommodate them and quickly then make city centres car free.

I’m completely in agreement re making making city and town centres vehicle free. This does need to cover all though. Bikes and scooters will cause many injuries in a pedestrian area. The centres need to become literally pedestrian only, nothing else. This would make them much more pleasurable and safer to visit for everyone. If mobility is a problem then pushed, not powered wheelchairs should be used.

I’ve a good mate in a wheelchair. He manages to push himself along. I can’t keep up at times.
Good on him but my wife cant use her left arm so she would be going in circles

If the scooter has all the necessary attributes of an e-bike it would be treated as such. Pedals as suggested, two wheel brakes, a seat, etc. To my knowledge there's no restriction on wheel size.

As I see it it the attraction of the scooter is portability - the facility to fold and carry it. Without that an e-bike is a better option.

Did the pedals need to be rotated to move or were they like the old mopeds like the Puch Maxi which was to get you up hills?
I only know they had pedals because somebody on the estate I used to live on in the 80s had one and I saw him pedaling it once

Think like a pedalo without the flamingo head

You did when the battery ran out , maybe that'd help with range anxiety on electric cars if some pedals dropped out when the battery got to 10%
Only people who haven’t got an electric car or never want one have got “range anxiety”
