You are correct most are some just can't resist finding fault. I broke my rule and that was not to feed them as it just gets worse so now i will follow up only on posts relevant to the title and issue at hand.Carry on like that and you'll soon run out of Un-useless points!

Yet you gave teabags post a 'like'..... Odd.Another useless point.
I have no interest in your point, i stated what i was told. There are some very useful replies on this thread.
Seems a bit “pointed” when people were trying to help.I was told it was filler cap by the dealer and a picture was attached which should of avoided the confusion. I would prefer it that you keep your comments to yourself if not assisting.
I agree.Seems a bit “pointed” when people were trying to help.
Not a good idea, Vaseline is Petrolem Jelly a can attack rubber & some plastics. As mentioned by others above, try smearing seal with Vaseline, that will help seal seat, and not cause any problems with water.
Another option could be to use PTFE tape on the threads.

A filler cap would be lockable to ensure the safety of your water supply.Just realised after reading Ali Gs post it's the INSPECTION CAP.. . NOT the FILLER cap as originally posted.
That makes a hell of a difference to diagnosing the problem and makes it easier if the correct terminology is used.

Always have a tube of LSX in the van
Not to mention that it allows bacteria to grow and looks skankyNot a good idea, Vaseline is Petrolem Jelly a can attack rubber & some plastics.
And it’s your FriendLSX is magic
never trust a dealer to know anything about your van that is an inspection cap and i think that was very rudeI was told it was filler cap by the dealer and a picture was attached which should of avoided the confusion. I would prefer it that you keep your comments to yourself if not assisting.
Bit harsh dont you think?
Good luck, I hope you get it fixed, filler cap or inspection cap, who cares. Enjoy your travels and Merry ChristmasI was told it was filler cap by the dealer and a picture was attached which should of avoided the confusion. I would prefer it that you keep your comments to yourself if not assisting.
No it wasn't! The dealer told him what it was, he trusted what he was being told, so obviously he is a fool right? NOT! We sometimes need to put our trust in someone, I am sure you have too, so your statement is flawed.never trust a dealer to know anything about your van that is an inspection cap and i think that was very rude
If you posted what it was it would have helped. Have you ever filled via the inspection cap.... I thought not.
How can that possibly be a FILLER CAP
At what point in the post he quoted did you find help?Seems a bit “pointed” when people were trying to help.
I was referring to the fact that such a comment would put off those who were genuinely trying to help. Many good suggestions had been made.At what point in the post he quoted did you find help?

There is pointing out in a helpful way and there is being a superior d!ck about it, just saying likeWhile PJ’s post did not offer any suggestion it did point out that the initial information provided was incorrect.
Easy, don't travel with a full tank.
They do have water in Spain.
