Another few weeks.

Can the 3D printer people on here do them? 🤷‍♂️

I’m interested as another layer to my ‘obvious‘ security measures. (y)
Going to design and print some for funsters when we return from Spain at the end of February. Will try and make them for £3 each +£1 postage.

Remapped today .

more waxoil applied To the underside. Still more to go.

Nothing more to do inside now fully completed. And everything tested and tried.

now sorting out the bits and pieces like pots pans ect ect.

just the underside and engine stuff to do now.
And all the exterior stuff inc bumper and skirt painting,
So as before another few weeks.
but the end is in sight. That’s just something I tell myself. And now starting to believe it.(y)

Started the removal of graphics. Removed with a hair dryer cleaned glue off with Actone .
sanded with 400 and then 800 grade wet and dry then polished off with the G3 polish
one full side and the rear end sorted today.

still a lot more to do. So as the title says another few weeks.

another few bits have now come up that need attention .

So now we have a blank canvas both sides .

all the graphics removed. And external repairs completed apart from some spray painting works.
more on that part later.

near on all the external and internal works now completed.
with a page long list of to do stuff .

quite a bit to do to the underside yet.
but now on with the graphics stuff to both sides.
I have no idea how this is going to look and if all fails it’s going to be all white.
anyway today is a wash it all down and dry it day.

it’s still on axial stands just waiting for better weather to get the stuff done underneath.

Graphics. Not sure if I like them or not. I have a day or so to make my mind up.
bought off of eBay £59.99. A set for both sides.

if I don’t like them I will have to think of something else.
done the back plain.
not done the top front yet but I am thinking same as the back.

not done the other side just in case there coming off…

I think that’s pretty smart. It’s your decision though. Your the one that has to live with it. 👍

They look very 'modern' and smart indeed, much better than many of the MH manufacturers' offerings.

Thanks for the positive comments I will do the other side now and see what it looks like .

Forgot to mention now have a microwave fitted for 240 volt hook ups. Never had one before…

also forgot the mention the corner caps over the trim to the rear of the cab there finished and fitted.
Hi Robert

Did you fit the twin plug socket in the cupboard where the microwave is?
If so, was it easy to fit?
Cheers

Yes the microwave cupboard is next to the wardrobe the mains electric fuse / consumer unit is in the wardrobe.
just a short wire run.

or it was for our van.

Thanks Robert

Ours is a 2004 Sindance 530LP, and in the same position as yours.
We got a microwave to put in the same space as yours, and I had to remove the stop screw and handle from the sliding door to get the thing in!
Our TV is on a bracket beneath the cupboard, and at the moment the power and aerial cable exit through the front. I can't make up my mind if I want to use a hole cutter to make a hole for the cables to exit.

Looks like the tv used to be fitted in the same place. But we renewed it for one with a built in dvd as well.
Our tv and sound bar . I have made some brackets and the tv hangs now on the over-cab bed.
it’s removable and stored on the above cab bed.

when the cab curtains are closed the tv is not in the way.

the 12 volt supply comes from one of a pair of batteries fitted underneath the cab seats .

but also works on 240 volts .

Well that’s it the other side has been completed now so we’re. Stickered up .
just the high bit above the cab front to strip and stick.

a few passers by have commented how good it looks so it will do.

Just a thought, make sure you tell your insurers so they can't use it as a get out clause in the future.

I have lots of photos of the improvements and repairs but as far as insurance goes dont suppose there be bothered as there pay out on the year not so much the condition or even what you spend on it.

if the van was coated in 22 carat gold still would not affect the value they have on their books.

age and good condition is all it’s got going for it.

Today all the old graphics are now gone the new ones on and another stupid item that I wanted to do was to put on a security latch on the hab door.

I have already done both cab doors and this was the last one to do . I wanted it done for when we’re off grid as an added security method.
however the inside of the door was hard plastic with a foam core and very thin alloy skin.
so there was not much to screw into and decided I would bolt it right through with an alloy plate both sides.
there is a full size fly screen that fits to the inside of the door and the sash lock just fitted.

and that’s what I did.

then fashioned a side reflector to cover the nuts and alloy plate.

turned out ok. For an old Moho.
now have to decide wether to add some more side reflectors same level down the sides. In fact both sides.

the latch is a sash lock latch and is exactly like the cab ones. One key fits all.
I think it was about £6 on eBay a lot cheaper but the same ones as advertised for motorhome cab locks.

That’s a nice job. Amazing what you can hide with a reflector. Will certainly make you feel more secure while wild camping. 👍

and the list of to do has another few item wiped off today.
front finished apart from the spray works on the front radiator grille.

Looking really good .
Thanks we’re pleased with the whole job so far …
we have a fair bit now to do to the underside and we should be finished.
seems forever but in reality it’s been just 9 weeks so far but not everyday day working on it.

Do you have to use a key to open the extra locks? There are dangers that can come from inside as well as outside, so do make sure you have an easy and quick exit if needed.

Well done on making the MH your own.

No the sash locks do not need locking we have a number of fire extinguishers some front one near the rear and smoke an carbon alarm.

and a big lounge window that I am sure a big push from the inside will be an option if we even think there’s an alarm call.

so we’re all good.

the other option was a shoot bolt but they have very small screws and I good pull from outside they may have just pulled out.
the sash lock was the other option..

we’re thinking the door sash lock only wild camping as they say because you never know who’s about..

it sure feels like ours now .

Re wild camping, i might have been lucky but in 40 years of stopping all over in the UK and Europe i have never had a problem apart from once in Castleton in the peak district many years ago.
That was mainly down to my stupidity and naivity, smashed window and stolen camera.

I am thinking more piece of mind than anything else.

a bit like locking the front door at night.
never had any problems where we live but you never know.

Theres always a first time then it’s to late.

Too right, i lock the doors like anyone , like you say, peace of mind.
👍👍👍👍

The last of the paint arrived today. Yep on a Sunday.

so with masking tape and masking paper we’re near on ready to start.
the next thing is all the sanding down .

the 1 k plastic coating is also ok to go over mastic like sikaflex and prevents any later paint
flaking or peeling. So I am told. Also it does not need any thinning used right out of the tin.

so on now with sanding the front grille and wheel trims.

then depending on weather the rear and side skirt plastic parts.
