And You Thought Dumping Grey Was Bad

Some of the coaches that go over to the continent definitely open the dump valve on purpose to empty the tank. A couple of years ago son in law and family did a package holiday that included express coach there and back, tank was dropped more than once each way and the drivers told him it was normal practice. I don’t believe they did it when in the U.K. but that’s probably because it didn’t need it rather than any other reason
Ther are More than enough drive over dump points on the continent almos every services has one.
In my 30 years motorhomeing in Europe I have never seen that practice.
And have been on a good few coach trips to Spain Germany France and never ever seen any couches dump black waste any whare it should not have been dumped.

Have you seen any in the UK Bill? Unless they are in the coach access part of a service station I’m not aware of any?

I doubt it, on the continent, they look at a problem like that and come up with a workable solution. In the uk they look at a problem like that, charge people over the odds to use the few facilities available, which forces people to dump illegally, then fine them heavily when they do.

Same with local tips reduce the opening hours, charge people over the odds to use them, then increase the fines for fly tipping.
Then wonder why fly tipping is such a problem.

The dumping of human waste along the carriageway (if that is what occurs), sounds quite disgusting and is illegal. Albeit the water companies do it in abundance into our waterways 😖
Train companies use to do this along the track, discharging their toilets🤢🤢

I dont know about now but originaly the train companies owned the track, so they were dumping on their own land.

Still happens up until this was written!
Use to rebuild railway bridges when I had my company about 8 years ago and cannot say I have ever seen any sewage on or near the tracks

When I was doing my rail track safety we wer alway told to keep our mouths firmly closed as a train passed
And it still happening with the older rolling stock wildbill

Your comment about it being on private land makes absolutely zero difference.
It isn't private though as anywhere the public has access is classed as public .
And sume of the older rolling stock still do
Bill
I was about to ask whether that still happened?

And here was me thinking they had electric dump valves and usually let it go while travelling 😂😂😂

Back in the day lorry driving in eastern Europe I learnt pretty quickly NOT to follow or get stuck behind the coaches, more than once ended up with the front of the truck being decorated!

Maybe it was John who has just passed his PSV.

Which is why the weeds grow so well along the track side - and there are lots of tomato plants in the mix too. tomato seeds are no affected by human guts - and that is why they grow around sewage plats as well.

Tomato soup anyone?

You’re not wrong.
When we had some of the groundwork’s packages to built Port Solent in 1987ish we had a big pile of ballast outside the tea hut for ages, these plants started growing and eventually tomatoes started to appear 😁😁
The lads use to pick and take them home😁😁

Modern trains have tanks under the carriages for the toilet waste. The tanks are emptied when the carriages are in the depot. Emptying the tanks on the line is a no-no.

At least there are considerate to the environment there no blue loo in it 🤮

Ok, the public are using it, it’s still privately owned, in effect they can close it off and say it’s private, wouldn’t be v good for business though

Which services did you witness this in,, wondering how far from his depot he was that he felt the need to do what he chose to do instead of waiting till he got back

I think this is a very sad thread, not that whatever happened, happened, but that so many people without knowing absolutly anything about the incident condem the guy, then reiterate it saying that they don't believe the response.

The law in the uk unlike many countries in the word states that someone is innocent until proven guilty after all the evidence is considered.

We appear to almost have a lynch mob, how sad the uk has got.

I guess i will be the next on the gallows after that comment.😬

I also believe in my eyesight .

There's a photo showing a coach with a big pile of shite under it and a driver looking surprised.

There's also an eye witness who said the driver reached under the bus and pulled/moved something before the shit appeared.

That's the facts and they are undisputed.

Now it might well have been an accident ...but there really are no accidents someone is always responsible and in this case it was the driver.

If he didn't know what he was doing he shouldn't have touched it. Most intelligent people would know what was going to happen and avoid it. He didn't 🤷‍♂️
