And You Thought Dumping Grey Was Bad

Not sure why the traffic commissioner would need to know, he’s on private land and hasn’t broken any traffic laws🤷‍♀️
Because it is absolutely disgusting. Your comment about it being on private land makes absolutely zero difference. It is appalling and at the very least, I hope that the picture is sent onto the coach company.

I wouldn't have thought he did it on purpose, would anyone have got covered in shit for fun, I would think there was a loose wire or something and he joined it while it was still switched on.
We haven't seen what happened after.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention this is certainly not what we expect from our drivers and will carry out a full investigation regarding this behaviour.
Thank you

Let's hope they get back to you with an explanation

Local firm to us have it heard any bad reports but then I don’t use coaches very often. Family friend says they area lovely company to travel with, don’t think she has any knowledge of the emptying procedure though.

Interesting there's not even a small buket of waste thare.
I think ther was probably sumthing wrong with the black tank dump valve or the pipes
He tried to sort it out and made the situation worse.
Maybe a wander over and ask him if he needed a hand.
Might have only been a jubilee clip leaking and he tried to fix it and the pipe came off.

Disgusting bar$¥@rd, I wonder whether motorhomes will get blamed for it 🤔...... .just a thought.
Not now the coach company has become a internet sensation by now.
I don't think it was ment to happen let he who is without sin throw the first stone.

He may have got it on himself by accident, many a motorhomer has done that too .myself included.

But I'm absolutely certain he knew exactly what he was doing when he pulled the lever

I phoned the company left a message thay got back to me almost right away thay have had a few phone calls regarding this matter.
It was a mistake on the behalf of the driver and the coach was moved and the spill was cleaned up and disposed of before it left the services.
That's the problem with forums judged jury and executioner.

Some of us are a little more cynical than you Bill. I suspect he knew exactly what he was doing but got himself in the sh1t accidentally :). At least the company have been put on notice and hopefully suitable words of advice have been given to the driver. Job done! Or should that be ‘jobbies done’ (for our Scottish friends ;) ).

Looks like it’s a generic response being emailed back .

Hello Neil,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, this is certainly not how we expect our drivers to behave.

We will carry out a full investigation with regards these images.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention with out you doing this we would know know.

I think pretty much every company would give the same answer.

Because he was caught on camera doing it so denying it happened would not work. And stating the driver did it deliberately would also not work.

There is no way he would have done it on purpose. All over muck in plain view of hundreds.

He pulled the lever on purpose? So either way it's pretty incompetent. Unless it was his first day on the Job he knew what the lever was for so common sense should have said park the bus over a disposal point or place a big container under it. A full shit tank didn't stop the bus from moving so why open the Valve?

Seems pretty basic stuff.

I wouldn't have thought a modern bus would require anyone to crawl underneath to open the emptying valve.

Pulled into the services on M1 Northbound for a leg stretch and a coffee, when a coach drive slid under the rear of the coach, stretched his arm up and wiggled at something that I now know was the black waste dump.

Well done that man, as he wore most of it down his arm, over his shirt and trousers and his shoes.

We moved tootsweet before someone blamed it on us, but 10 mins later, he appeared from the gents, with a brown stained white shirt and trousers.

🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

No way that is a full dump from a coach, and nobody in their right mind would dump in a carpark like that, i would say that he had a problem, hopfully he reported it to his company, before all the accusations came in.

I had a situation years ago when some slightly sensitive company information was leaked to the local rag, as soon as i heard about it I i i informed my boss that i was a friend and drinking partner of the reporter, and it wasn't me who leaked the info.

An hour later he was able to defend me when somebody did report me as the possible leak. But not so easy if i hadn't already said something.

That looks barely a bucket full, no idea how big his black tank is but would guess many 100’s litres, if he had just opened the valve it would have covered a massive area 🤔
The questions beckons why touch it? Why take the chance? He's a driver

Because passengers were telling him they couldn’t use the toilet as it was overflowing inside so just open it quickly, let just a bit out so they can use the toilet and then I can empty the rest when I get back to the depot, that’s why it was on his clothes.

Another Idea

Open the valve realise oops close the valve

Hmm I'm not convinced. He's in a services the passengers could use the toilet there. He's a driver, and he isn't 19 , what exactly did he think would happen if he tampered around with a tank full of shit?

Me I'd have said toilets out of order. I'll stop at this services where you can use the facilities, and report it to management to be looked at later.
Or at the very least if I was going to tamper with a tankful of shit I'd do it where it could be drained away , cleaned and I'd have something under it to catch any fallout.

Whilst it may have been an accident it could certainly have been prevented by using a bit of common sense.

I said in my opinion, didn’t say it wasn’t disgusting, give the guy a break I’m sure his bad day got even worse, if he had a coach full of people do you honestly think he would empty it in full view🤷‍♀️ plus a motorhome parked nearby and whoever else that was there that we can’t see in the photo

Some of the coaches that go over to the continent definitely open the dump valve on purpose to empty the tank. A couple of years ago son in law and family did a package holiday that included express coach there and back, tank was dropped more than once each way and the drivers told him it was normal practice. I don’t believe they did it when in the U.K. but that’s probably because it didn’t need it rather than any other reason

Wow, imagine if that was common knowledge as you suggest and happening with the Motorhome fraternity. There would be more letters to newspapers, to councils and environmental officers. There would be outrage.
So they do it abroad but not in the UK, what a terrible practice.

In all likelihood ‘our man’ didn’t intend on dumping his 100 litres of human waste at that service station, it could well be the case that the coach is fitted with a remote electronic dump valve which didn’t appear to be working (possibly tried dumping along the road but it wasn’t clearing) so went below to give it a little tap to ‘free it’ and was met with a 🙈🪵 surprise!!

The dumping of human waste along the carriageway (if that is what occurs), sounds quite disgusting and is illegal. Albeit the water companies do it in abundance into our waterways 😖
