Am i been naughty its not Cornwall or Devon.

Nah! we haven't disguised our desert yet.
What's it to be then?
For me it would be Hockings (north Devon) Clotted Cream Ice cream, 2 large scoops, with fresh Strawberry's and a Strawberry Coulis heavily drizzled over both.
Then Coffee & Brandy to finish.
LES
I’ll go with the Brandy and coffee but I don’t like ice cream or strawberries.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t enjoy eating them it’s just that the order is irrelevant if the cream’s not clotted! I’m just jealous really. I’m not a Mr so I am a bit pedantic...
Does it help if the person eating it is a clot? :giggle:

I had previously opened the 'movies to watch' thread and clicked on here instead of that tab and was just about to say I'd never heard of those films!

“Jam 1st“ was the name of the film about the Border War between Devon and Cornwall.

I thought that was "Cornish Clots versus Devon Dummies"

Now in Cornwall. We shall try to get some scones and clotted cream tomorrow.
Left it too late for today although it will be Devon jam just to mess with the Cornish folk 😆😆

How can you spread jam on top of cream?

I like using lime marmalade and cream 🍿🍿

The ONLY time cream goes on the bottom:

A freelance journalist living in Manchester is entitled to his opinion but it doesn’t make him any more of an expert on scones than the average Funster. His description of whipped double cream as “earthier” is not one I recognise. I think his clotted cream description must have been based on a sample that was dropped on the grass when being carried out to him. Nowt wrong with serving cream in a ramekin, as long as it is heaped high.

I suppose if yuo live in Devon and can only get cold scones it doesn’t matter much but in Cornwall they are served fresh and still warm and the cream melts if it goes on first so jam on first and it’s a goodun

I may be guilty of many things but this isn’t one of them.
ps tried Devonshire clotted cream and it’s equally as good as the Cornish one.
However to show no favouritism to either county I am now alternating cream then jam then jam then cream.
Or maybe I’m just upsetting 2 countys 😄😄

Jam first!!! CORNISH!!! clotted cream after!! If the Scone is not warm! Tiz not fresh!"

Standards dear boy!!! Standards!!!

Not that you heathens from north of the Tamar would know what you are being served!

Best place in Cornwall to get a FRESH cream tea is the Old Lifeboat House in Coverack, definately worth the long walk from the car park.
(When they are open!)
