Alloys. Did you know?

Personally, I wouldn't touch Alloys with a barge pole!
IF I hit a deep pothole, it might bend my steel rims but it won't shatter them and, even if it did, I just put on the spare until I can purchase another, cheap because someone else has converted to alloys, wheel rims. 👍
Steelies are lighter (!), more durable and cheaper to replace. They only reason for alloys is cosmetics.

I bought the Martech kit too - no compressor or inflate/deflate lever valves - although I did modify it so that the two bags are independent of one another, but connect to a single gauge from Marcle Leisure with taps/valves to choose which side you are inflating/deflating/reading the pressure of.

While we are on the subject, I don't suppose ANYONE has got a Marcle Dunlop O/S/R SINGLE BELLOWS (or reasonably priced pair,) for my rear axle, For Sale?

The O/S/R on my PVC, has lost it's deviding ring and now it's just a single airbag instead of bellow shaped.
It still works okay but it was put as an 'advisory' at my last MOT so I would like to change it before the next. 🤔

Cheapest option seems to be to remove the step. Carry a portable folding step.

Anyway, mine got clanged by a metal ramp at some roadworks in France. Big loud surprise! A bit of a relief to find that only the electric step had been damaged. The casing was dented and jamming the electric mechanism.

With a hammer and tyre lever I managed to make the step kind of functional albeit sticky. Not ideal, but it will do, at least until it fails 100%. Then I will have to fit a new one.

The main reason for all this change is the step is too low. Catches the road a lot.

New alloys and tyres. VB air assist. Increased insurance all adds up to just under £4k. It would need all these to give a reasonable increase in height.

Or remove step whilst it is still useable and could be refitted if we sell and use folding step we already have.

I think I need to give my head a bang against a wall to be even considering it:ROFLMAO:

Especially when we will spend a lot less than that in total for the next 90 days in Spain.

... or flog it! (y) No point in refitting it if you sell unless you hate the buyer! :giggle:
