WANTED Air rifle.

you haven't seen a big rat unless it is more than 2ft long

I do quite a lot of Air rifle shooting when in Field Target competitions everyone shoots with .177 for better accuracy.

Currently I shoot with a tuned Weihrauch HW100s, I also own a HW97 and HW80 which is rather unique in that when I bought it it was .22 I went into Sandwell Field Sports and they changed the barrel for a .177 from a HW95 and fully tuned the rifle, shoots like a dream with very little recoil, the nice touch is it has the word Mantis inscribed in gold letters.
Chris my wife shoots with a Brocock Concept .177.
I also have an Air Arms S200.

Some pics of the HW80 springer, out in the field we always get dinner.

I have yet to see an HW100 at an FT shoot, here is my spare Walther and my Pro Target that I bought when I came back to FT after a long break. I added the silencer to pop vermin.

We have a lot of Weihrauch rifles in the club and also Daystates and Air Arms amongst the trees, grass and mud kneeling, standing and lying down they are very capable.

That sounds more like HFT to me.

In my experience of Target Shooting which is more .22 rim fire cartridge related my mates who shoot in Lightweight Sport Rifle competitions shoot .177 air rifles indoors for the greater accuracy and lack of recoil but when it comes to outdoors they give up on the air rifles because they are too affected by wind to be competitive against the likes of Rugers, Sakos and Anschutz rimfire rifles! .22 air rifles are more accurate due to the heavier pellet provided that the velocity is as high as is is legal.

I'm afraid that I will have to disagree with you over which calbre is more acccurate, go to any air rifle competitions, either FT or HFT and everyone is using .177. With a .22 It's more of a lob with the pellet due to the weight, people prefer the flatter trajectory of a .177.

Not being picky but why not put some chicken wire around the trees and leave the rabbits alone?

Just planted over 100 new trees so a lot of trees to fence , it’s also the holes & damage they cause , they have dug warrens under the concrete on one of my big sheds causing subsidence , when my jcb drove over the corner it collapsed , as much as I like bunnies they have to go ?

You looking for a contractor ??

Had my mini arsenal out today for a bit of back garden plinking...BSA Meteor, Webley Exocet, HW 35, Gamo Shadow 1000 (spanish bsa), Tx 200 hc...all .22 flavour...a little breezy and at 25 yds the accuracy was not bril...a pleasant 2 hrs though.
Might dust down the Airsporters (mk1 & mk6), and the Mercury and give them a go tomorrow.

regards
Allen

A regulated Air Arms S410 .177 for me, I had a Daystate .22 previously, nice gun but .177 is much better with the flatter trajectory.
