"A Year in Spain" My "last gasp" attempt at posting (informative info).

The first tree is a walnut I think. No idea about the second.

No no no, I got four walnut trees in my garden, for since I was born; that first one it’s a plum. Not sure about the second.

Thank you. I asked some Brit gardeners, and fellow (ex?) FUNsters and they didn't know.

For me, it's always going to be a "Flame Tree" 😊
We saw one of those trees in Gandia as few weeks ago, our youngest daughter is a gardener and said a Australian flame bottle tree was what she said. 😯 😁 Bob.

It appears that we are on schedule for our summer trip away. Four months of travel in Spain, France, Portugal (maybe, we're flexible).

Martin has a last nurse check of his leg on Thursday and, all being well, we're hoping to set off from here in a north easterly direction, on Sunday.

We like the area inland from Castellon, so maybe that might be our first stop. The (wet) weather is going to be the deciding factor. A first for this time of year.

I'm going to be doing a Polarstep trip and I'll be posting on here, as well as on my Facebook (for my mum).

We're looking forward to getting on the road again 🙂🙂

Best wishes for the trip, it should stop raining eventually. :)

We had our last Murcian ride yesterday until, possibly October. We've had to stay off the, ex dusty, now muddy, tracks and only ride minor roads and the driveable gravel tracks. It's still nice to be out in the warm sun. We expected a storm yesterday afternoon, we got thunder but no rain, although the town got a deluge.

We've decided to leave for our summer trip sometime tomorrow. We're heading to France for better weather 🤣🤣. We'll probably stop overnight on the Ebro.

Our loose plan is just North of Perpignan (seems to be OK there) until the weather elsewhere settles and then we'd like to follow the Pyrenees (hopscotching along) until we get to the coast in Pais Vasco. Then head west, slowly, to Galicia. Further planning will be made as we go along.

A few Murcian photos, including a Roller.

We've had a busy day, doing the washing, loading the camper, shopping for, (most important), teabags and wine. Cooking up the spare veggies given to us by Paco from his farm in Totana, and gifting to the neighbours the stuff we don't want to take with us.

We couldn't possibly leave today apparently ! There's a football match that can't be missed 😂😂. So tomorrow it is.

Love the photos - especially the turquoise blue mountain lake.
Looking forward to following your trip.

From the arrival of our L.....drive camper, began our even more love of the great outdoors.

We had many long weekends away, and long weeks (Three, they seemed like a long time then) away across the channel for our summer trips.
We spend January to March in Spain usually La Manga but have been all around over the years. My wife would like to move out to live but I'm not so sure. We enjoy any travel blogs.

Sooo, from yesterday afternoon, when we suddenly decided we could get on the road we left our golf view apartment (more about that later) and within 30 minutes we were moving. We needed LPG so, knowing of a place just off the A7 at Totana, we headed there. Road works (tarmaccing) sent us on a detour, and our our way back out we stumbled on a brand new motorhome parking area. Open for only a week, we unfortunately didn't stay to give them a boost, but Martin had a chat with the friendly ow er.

In our view it's suitable to use for a night whilst travelling along the A7 motorway, but to stay there ... not for us. But then we do have friends with farms in many parts of Totana 🤣

Know the aire although we haven't stopped there either as we have friends close by.

No problems, if you do the Pyrenees then I highly recommend popping into Andorra it packs a punch and will certainly give you some decent cycle routes
Lived there in Soldeau a few years ago there's some excellent walking. Sold the apartment now so tend not to visit these days.

We started our Spanish life with a few weeks at La Manga. We've certainly done a lot of travelling since then (1998).

We are just down the road from you, near Mojacar, but in the mountains near Bedar. I hope you have a great trip, we were in Galicia last September and can't wait to go back. I had the two trees pegged as Mango and Carob but looking closer, those almonds are HUGE compared to our meagre offerings! Thanks for the Totana Aire heads up. We usually need a stopover close to home as our storage place isn't always open when we need it! We have used the other Totana site in the past, but not recently.

We're on the road. Just left Murcia to cross into Alicante.

We've pulled onto a weighbridge and we're OK 😏 and given the van a quick wash (we expect it to get dirty again soon).

I'll post about our overnight later 👍

We (jumar and myself) live in Spain. We now have a "bolthole" apartment, twixt the mountains of Sierra Espuña and the med coast of Puerto Mazarron.

But ... we still have many motorhoming trips away. Local(ish) in autumn/winter/spring, and in the summer months, further afield.

In the summer I often start a thread, but, I soon give up, due to lack of inerest, maybe? to people being away on their own summer trips, and not needing info of places to go. Any other reasons, please say!

So ... I'm happy, and willing to post, a "Year in Spain" (with maybe a dip over the borders into France and Portugal).

Any interest, starting from now onwards??
We would be very interested! We are setting off in our Hymer Starline next Mndat for France, Spain and Portugal, having done the trip many times before!
