That is absolutely gross and the staff should have stopped it, and removed the baskets for cleaning. Mind you, some of the kids climbing around in trolleys put you off having to put anything in them ever again.
As you say, some owners can't even look after their kids, never mind their dogs! 😡

Why won't the organizers of these events just simply state NO DOGS ALLOWED anywhere in the exhibition.?
The way the dog owner population has grown over the past few years, I would imagine, the attendance levels would drop dramatically? It's like asking them to leave their children in the car? 🤔

Dogs are clearly enough of a problem for the OP to make this request, I’m not anti dog but I do think whilst they may be company for some they can also be problematic. When did long leads become a ‘thing’ letting dogs ‘run free’ as if it’s a right yet many are hunting dogs and will upset ground nesting birds or other wildlife.

A well trained dog is a pleasure to watch in public but they are few and far between

Controversial comment but it’s how I and many see it 🍿
Bit like kids..not many well behaved now..BUSBY.

We were left it pub gardens as kids..bottle of lemonade and a bag of crisps whilst mum and dad were warm in the pub..BUSBY.
We weren't even taken to the pub as kids we were left at home by our mum and dad, they wouldn't have wasted beer money on pop and crisps for us:giggle:

Don’t agree with most of you on this , I would rather walk around a market / show with my dog than leave her in the van or at home , and she would prefer to come with us ,
I carry a rucksack with water and bowl and a black Dustin bag to clean up after her if she caught short , dogs need to socialise with other dogs and humans ,
I enjoy her company properly more than humans . But I totally Agree with op ref peeing up against his stock which ain’t on ,
ps
Good luck to England football tonight

And what's wrong with that :giggle:
Not sure what question you're asking but I will try and answer part of it.

Depends on the age and maturity of the children because, I think, in law they are probably thought to be in charge of the vehicle should anything untoward happen.

I have seen very young children being, playfully, shown how to drive a vehicle and there are reports of them taking handbrake off.
Not a good thing to happen if they're alone in a car on a hill?

I'm sure it does ... tell that to all the blokes who pee up stuff and don't think twice about it.

Although my girls do pee up stuff sometimes more often than not they've already done their ablutions in a suitable place (cleaned up afterwards) before we go anywhere with them on leads anyway.

Yes, back in the 40/50's I too was taught at an early age on the farm. I and my 3 brothers, but I've seen 3&4yr olds being shown.😱

By the time we were 10-12 we could drive (and reverse ) tractors, trucks trailers and even Shire Horses. The tractor and separate 4 wheel trailor was a challenge to reverse through gateways 😄

I was about 15 before I could carry the 18st bags of corn from the drum to the barn at threshing time though! 🤔

I thought the issue may be in decline given the amount of dogs I see being pushed in prams, when did that all start and what’s that all about. Understand a frail old dog but most look fit and healthy and more of a fashion trend.

You can't always tell a dog's health status due to how old it looks, our Midge looked healthy but had Cushings disease which meant he tired easily and had a limp at times, we lost him at 9.

Our Tazzy is nearly 13 and whilst she can run around she does tire easily, with having 2 much younger ones who need a lot more exercise she gets tired very quickly (and fed up) when just walking so we have a buggy that she goes in at first then when we get somewhere she'll enjoy a potter round and have a good sniff about she comes out for a while, then when she's had enough (she lets us know) she goes back in the buggy and has a nice ride back to the camper taking in the scenery and chilling. If she had to walk all the time she'd have no energy nor enjoyment.

It's just a kiddy buggy though a she likes to be high up and not 'fenced' in as is the case with dog buggies, also Bella likes to hitch a ride at times! It also comes in handy when it's busy (lots of people pottering around) as we can stick all 3 in to keep them safe so they don't get trod on.

We've actually just got another one, pretty much the same design as the below but a bit bigger and with larger wheels so it will go over cobbles, gravel etc easier as the smaller wheels just get jammed in the cracks, gaps in paving etc.

Just like Humans they can look perfectly well but can suffer from ill health, my sister had Great Danes who don’t have great longevity. One I recall looked fine but passed away at about 5 years

Looks like you have a perfect solution so you can all go out and about some good lateral thinking in providing something that enables your dog 🐕 👍

I know where there is a fence and gates that need to be treated until they rot!!

Near us there used to be a man with a dog in a buggy. There was a sign that said "My dog isn't lazy. She is a dog, not a baby but she has a broken spine and can't walk." The dog was lovely and stuck her tongue out and wiggled her head as she couldn't wag her tail. Lovely girl.

Perhaps you should organise a dog friendly MH rally at your place!
