A Plea About Funsters Names!!!!

I thought I had done really well, signing in as Cliffandger - self explanatory I thought ...... (ger is short for Geraldine).

However, since our first day here in 2013, we’ve been known as Cliffhanger  Even Jim who, as we all know is perfect, made us a window name plaque spelt Cliffanger!

So even when you try to be succinct and clear, it doesn’t always work!

I do know though, that Taran_Las loves cheese so much he tried to register as Mousy, but it had already been taken !

Morning Funsters... I love to follow all these interesting (mostly) topics.
I am sure it is not just me but some threads can be really difficult to follow especially if halfway through the thread one,or more, of the posters name changes.
I.E. following a thread with someone with a Funster handle of Bobcar (apologies if there is actually a Bobcar out there) is suddenly referred to as Brian.
Now I appreciate that there is a lot of friendships out there and it is easy to use a person's given Christian name but for ease of use, not to mention my sanity could I please appeal to you all to use Funsters Names when on the forum and save the Christian names for the rally field.
Regards
Stephen....OOPPSS
Poppycamper

Taran_las also known as Phil. Obvious init:LOL:

:getmecoat:

Darn, I've been sussed

I'm Minxy Girl because I couldn't think of a name when I joined and my actual name was taken (well the shortened version was ... 'MelB') and as someone had called me a Minx on another forum I used that, then some funsters (even weirder than me) though I was a boy  so I became Minxy ... but for some unfathomable reason a minority of funsters were still confused about my gender  so I added Girl ... saying that there are some who just haven't a clue so goodness knows what gender they think I am as I still get called 'mate' and also often Mindy!

Wouldn't work as people don't use their real names in the first place.
Whatever happened to melb ? Used to always be on, not seen anything by here for years.

How do I tell Shirly Smith she is nuts
Without offending the other 44 Shirly Smiths.
Before Shirly Smith comes on having a go at me, I wasn't talking to you.
My wife is a posh Shirley, she has a "E" in it.
Bob :ROFLMAO:

Even forum names can be confusing - there are at least 6 very similar to ours!

There appear to be lot of old Toms on here - where are Dick and Harry? 😀

Surely everyone knows that Harry is a spider who lives in a matchbox Janine. His 'coming out' day was announced on telly.

We have christened his relative who lives in our Antara door mirror Harry, in memory of the original.

you should have used your number plate

One day you'll be stopped by plod.

Just after I've altered your van's plates. o_O

Be afraid, be very afraid.

ps -great to see you both at Stratford (y)

Ha ha interesting reading, on the Motorhomefunsters page on face ache everybody uses their proper name, now that’s different. :rofl:

There is sometimes a good reason for that. Some employers very aggressively search the internerd for their existing and future employee's social exploits "for HR purposes". One previous employer has a zero tolerance of anything to do with having a good time, so it sometimes helps.

And anyway my real name of Darth Vader draws a little too much publicity and unwelcome light sabres
Having been subject to my current employer using these type of tactics, I for one am grateful of the use of nicknames.
Not that I have posted anything , in my opinion and small world, defamatory or otherwise, but my opinions, lifestyle choices and interests have nothing whatsoever to do with my company outside of work .
One small comment, reaction or ill chosen word could be used against me, and I am not having that again, thanks.

P.S.
I'll only go so far as to say that mine's a contraction of my two kids' nicknames: daughter 'Sprinkler' and son Widdler'. How they laughed.

sounds like a lot of piss to me 😂

Yes, been there, done that and got the tee shirt which is why I use nicknames and my Faceache account is very heavily restricted and almost nothing posted anyway. Certainly nothing that can be used against me.

It is a bit weird how the role of usernames is reversed there. E.g. there I’m known publicly by a full name but in the background my usual username is there: https://www.facebook.com/kevenh

My current employer’s social media policy is simple in reality to follow. Just don’t mention work unless you’ve taken their social media course.
Hmm! I assume if brought to their attention, my Nazi porn fetish could upset them 🤔

It was the extensive collection of octopus fetish stuff that did for me.

Oh, and the excessive use of light sabres, love of Death Stars and the desire for total universe domination. Yes, maybe it was that, and not the octopus porn.........

No Dave ....... it was the Octopus porn that did it for you. That costume you wore in the video was just not realistic enough ................ :ROFLMAO:

You mean your rubber one that you had Custom made? Not surprised it didn’t fit me - you are much slimmer. Sorry it got a bit torn when I gave it back ;)

I used to meet up for coffee regularly in car parks, with female solos just for a coffee and chinwag, we still do and have made lovely friends...... but when you arn't sure what they look like and you keep going to lone people in cars asking, "Are you looking for Joy?" ... movan became a better option. :(
Did you carry a bible 😉
