Redbrook car park in the Wye Valley. Always a very peaceful night. Spending a couple of days riding mountain bikes in the forest with young Dave.

After such a hot and muggy day we needed a few cold ones in what I think is the best pub in the forest, The Boat at Penhallt. Landlord is passionate about his beers, ciders and perry and he is only 22.

It’s a short 150m walk across the river to cider heaven from the car park.

And check out the garden. It looks like a brontosaurus is about to walk out from them gunnera.

Spent the evening playing 4-in-a-row. Good old fashioned fun without an electronic device in sight.

Epsom downs. Didn't realise there was anywhere with a panoramic view of London. Heathrow to the left right round to Canary wharf on the right. A clear view of the Wembley arch at least 12 miles away. Wanted to stay there to see it in the dark but my daughter informed Mrs boldly that it was a known dogging spot so we went and stayed at epsom tea hut car park. Apart from a couple of idiots on quad bikes no dramas. Now at Newhaven in the queue.

sorrymy phone camera is not good enough to see London but believe me it's there.

Last of 2 nights a Waveney Vally (near Diss) with 2 grand kids. Back home late afternoon. Now a frantic 2 days getting van ready for our trip across the channel. We’ll be watching Ipswich’s game against Fulham on Saturday before setting of for Canterbury P&R ready for Train on Sunday.

Ratzeburg, south of Lübeck, it's a campsite on the Domsee, did a one night stop to refresh, been here 4 days ....10m from the water so the boat is out, super Restaurant 500m up the road....
33€ a night, which for summer in North Germany is Cheap......using Freebie stellplatz on the way home balances up the costs.

Great food at Diddly Squat. Don't believe the bollox about q times. Less than 40 min to get in the shop to buy loads of meat stuffs in the morning. 20 mins q for breakfast bacon and sausage rolls with a pint of lager and IPA, at 10:28hrs. Lunch 35 mins from q to first mouthful of burgers and skin on fries, c/w pints of lager, IPA and fruit cider.

Actually it’s just across the road from the nice little CCP where we stayed last night. It looks in a sorry state but I’m sure I saw somebody in it overnight.

Pineda de mar 2 nights acsi 46€. Pricey but located very nicely for town and lovely swimming pool for Mrs boldly. (Apologies for photo quality but crap phone and on-site bar)

Fontaine de Vacleuse CCP. A bit cramped but worth it for the beautiful village and walk to the famous source of the river Sourge, except the last 50m is closed off because of falling rocks.

We stayed on this Aire last year, lovely little village and great base for cycling and some walking.

We loved Fussen last year, beautiful place. We accidentally gate crashed a party in a bar, but they told us to stay and join in. Wobbled home on the bikes in the early hours.
